Re: Help with GUADEC graphic design tasks

2017-07-14 Thread Allan Day
Hey everyone,

We are aiming to send the bulk of the designs to the printers early
next week, so time is short! Here's what we've got so far:

 * Pin badges -
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/pin-badges/pin-badges-guadec-2017.pdf
 * Attendee badges -
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/events/guadec/2017/badges/badge-side-1.pdf
,
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/events/guadec/2017/badges/badge-side-2.pdf
 * Tickets for the anniversary party -
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/events/guadec/2017/anniversary-party/birthday-party-ticket.pdf
 * Drinks tokens for the anniversary party -
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/events/guadec/2017/anniversary-party/welcome-drink-token.pdf
 * Posters -
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/events/guadec/2017/posters-and-banners/simple-poster-a3.pdf
 * Roller banners -
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/events/guadec/2017/posters-and-banners/roller-banner-all-sponsors.pdf
,
https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/blob/master/events/guadec/2017/posters-and-banners/roller-banner-platinum-and-gold-sponsors.pdf

Some of these are still fairly new and could do with more work. Any
comments or improvements would be very welcome!

They should stay at the current sizes - A7 for the tickets and A8 for
the drink tokens. This is to ensure that they fit inside the
conference badge.

The logo.

I'm aiming to have the printing finalised by Monday, although it might
be more like Wednesday. There's still a lot to do.

Any changes would be welcome. Kate should have access to the marketing repo.

Hey Allan,

Some questions about the drink

and admission

tickets:

   - How big should each of these be?
   - What is the grey square for? If it's for a QR code, is it required to
   be a certain size?
   - When are you printing these so that we know when to deliver final
   assets?

We're hoping to add the 20th birthday logo in and potentially change the
font a little. Kate was thinking of redesigning the ticket a little to make
it more readable if we're printing it small. Adding Kate here so she can
communicate directly :)

Thanks!

Best,
Nuritzi

Anything you could do would be really appreciated! Feel free to send
comments or work to me directly so we can talk it over, if you'd prefer to
do it that way.

Quick point about these -- if we go with the 2-clip lanyards rather
than the 1-clip lanyard they are much less likely to rotate all the
time, so we might get away with the name only on one side.

As someone with a graphics design background, I think these look great.
Especially nice work on the badges!

I have some ideas on how to make the numbers of the different caves
stand out more. I'll try to get something together tomorrow.

I can try to do it next week if no one else is available (I'm swamped with
an internship right now but should have more breathing room soon).

Help with GUADEC graphic design tasks

2017-07-07 Thread Allan Day
Hi all,

GUADEC is fast approaching and there are a lot of print materials to
prepare [1]. I've been doing my best to design these, and have uploaded a
bunch of work today:

   - Attendee badges:

https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/tree/master/events/guadec/2017/badges
   - Tickets and token for the anniversary party:

https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/tree/master/events/guadec/2017/anniversary-party
   - Signage:

https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-marketing/tree/master/events/guadec/2017/signage

I'm not a graphic designer and I'm sure these could be improved. So, if
anyone with graphic design skills would like to make improvements, it would
be most appreciated!
