I'm sorry, but I can't tell. DMARC wrapping is not enabled for this mailing list in Mailman. Also, I'm not operating the mailman server, I only configure the list I use. I don't have access to any logs. -Patrick signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ enigmail-users mailing list enigmail-users@enigmail.net To unsubscribe or make changes to your subscription click here: https://admin.hostpoint.ch/mailman/listinfo/enigmail-users_enigmail.net
[Enigmail] Mail is wrap-munged for no reason
Dear listmaster, Iʼve noticed that _some_ of my mail, that is passing through your list, is got wrapped (in sense of ‘dmarc_moderation_action’). To the best of my knowledge, thatʼs a measure, that is sometimes used to deal with combinations of two conditions: 1. The list owner wants to modify mail passing through the list (such as prepend ‘subject’ with a tag or add a footer) so much, that heʼd better opt for munging them more than stop doing that at all. This seems to be the case. 2. The sender, however, explicitly prohibit doing that, by specifying ‘strict’ DMARC policy. That is *not* the case. Despite not being very happy about, say, fake ‘reply-to’ in my letters, I do not enforce any DMARC policy at all for this domain: $ dig +short _dmarc.gnui.org txt $ Nevertheless, while my first message in this thread had not been wrapped, the next two: and had been, even though nothing had apparently changed on my side. Have I missed something or thatʼs some bug? signature.asc Description: PGP signature ___ enigmail-users mailing list enigmail-users@enigmail.net To unsubscribe or make changes to your subscription click here: https://admin.hostpoint.ch/mailman/listinfo/enigmail-users_enigmail.net

Well, thatʼs more than plausible¹. So please, do not keep that info secret! But please note, that ‘reliably’ is an important word here. I am aware, that many SKS-running servers are considering themselves functional (and that they are dissynchronized with Honeypuck-running keyserver.ubuntu.com for now too). But I feel not at ease to suggest to use any server, that fails due to timeout most of time, to a man, who had come here to ask “how to reset a passphrase”. - ¹ For instance, I assume, that https://peegeepee.com may be, but it does not seem to be much used, so itʼs hard to be sure. signature.asc Description: PGP signature --- End Message --- ___ enigmail-users mailing list enigmail-users@enigmail.net To unsubscribe or make changes to your subscription click here: https://admin.hostpoint.ch/mailman/listinfo/enigmail-users_enigmail.net
