yay, that was the hint I was looking for! I'm able to dim the screen using

I wrote a script using xrandr and bound it to the dim-undim keys, and also a

thanks raster, you saved me from gnome :)

[e-users] How can I set the GTK theme under Enlightenment?

2010-10-10 Thread Vinícius dos Santos Oliveira
When I use GNOME, the GTK+ theme is automatically set to Radiance, and some
apps starts to look good. When I start an Enlightenment session, this don't
happens. How can I set this behavior.

I use lxappearance to set the GTK+ theme when I'm in e16. There are
other apps that also do this such as gtk-chtheme or gtk-theme-switch.

you need to start the naughty gnome-settings-daemon to get all of
that, or configure your theme at ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and font dpi at
~/.Xdefaults or ~/.Xresources

I avoid gnome-settings-daemon as it slows downs my boot for no good reason.

[e-users] Works pretty good

2010-10-10 Thread Larry Wyble

I downloaded the SVN today 10-09-10 at 11:00 CDT. Just so we all
know what e version I'm using. :)

I built packages using pkgtool in Slackware. Everything built and
installed like a charm. Woohoo

I built and installed in this order:

eina eet evas ecore embryo edje e_dbus efreet eeze e

When I ran it it came up and told me there was a module missing:

conf_exe/linux-gnu-i686-ver-pre-svn-07/module.so

and do I want to delete that module, and I clicked yeah since it
was not actually there. woof woof..

There was no wallpapers and there were none in the configuration menu
thingy, although the theme names were in there, there was not actually
anything to pick and choose from. Just the names and no
graphical type stuff.

So I downloaded the themes from here:
http://svn.enlightenment.org/svn/e/trunk/THEMES
But they won' build. So what should I do??

Thanks

BTW, what the heck is eeze

check the .desktop files. - i looked. MOST don't contain translations. where
gnome gets its translations beats me. might be some newer fdo standard that
splits them out - dunno.

you used xbacklight? :) (it may or may not work as above depending on driver -

THEMES/BW still has a spectrum in it, while the actual version in the
