[e-users] EFL 1.18.5 -> 1.19.1 upgrade, OpenGL engine problem
Hi, Today I've tried to upgrade my system running on Debian Linux 8.8 with Enlightenment 0.21.8 on EFL 1.18.5 to the latest 1.19.1. Since then, my video card, which was running perfectly fine before the upgrade (with the OpenGL engine) became suddenly "unsupported", OpenGL compositing cannot be enabled anymore. It's an older card (Geforce 7600 GT) used with the nVidia legacy driver (304.135) Was there any change in that area? Are the OpenGL requirements higher now? Did anybody else encountered something similar? Thanks! [e-users] Enlightenment 0.21.2 + vertical shelf containing only IBar
Hi, When I've upgraded my Enlightenment WM from v0.21.1 to v0.21.2, I ran into a pretty weird side effect on my machine: my vertical shelf containing only an IBar gadget (with 12 icons) became unusable, because it's height is now (seems to be) 0 pixels. Just to be sure, that it's not caused by my settings, I did a backup of my .e directory and started with a fresh config running through the setup wizard again. After that, I've added an extra vertical shelf with just an IBar inside -> same problem. (Debian 8, EFL 1.18.1, Enlightenment 0.21.2) Does this happen to anybody else or it's just me? Re: [e-users] Terminology and EFL 1.10.0 beta 1
It looks like, I've screwed up something, so my Terminology git was not up to date. I've cloned it again to get a clean state, now it compiles fine. By the way, the only file with problems was app_server.c. I've just tracked the changes in EFL to make it compile. So: - ELM_APP_SERVER_VIEW_EV_... - ELM_APP_SERVER_VIEW_EVENT_... - eo_base_data_get - eo_key_data_get - elm_app_server_view_id_get call change Basically, that's it. Re: [e-users] E18 ESTART - SLEEP messages in .xsession-errors
Hi, I've looked into the code and the messages are generated by e_main.c, function _e_main_cb_idle_after (from line 1875 to 1900). It looks like this: static Eina_Bool _e_main_cb_idle_after(void *data __UNUSED__) { static int first_idle; edje_freeze(); #ifdef E18_RELEASE_BUILD first_idle = 1; if (first_idle) { TS(SLEEP); first_idle = 0; e_precache_end = EINA_TRUE; } #else if (first_idle++ 60) { TS(SLEEP); if (!first_idle) e_precache_end = EINA_TRUE; } #endif return ECORE_CALLBACK_RENEW; } E18_RELEASE_BUILD is defined, since it's from the release version, so the upper part is active. As far as I can see, this means, that every time the _e_main_cb_idle_after function is called, a SLEEP line is logged. Probably that was not the original intention, the first_idle = 1; line is causing trouble IMHO. Someone, who really knows, what's going on in the background should check this. :-) Regards, ADA On 23/12/13 16:23, Christian Bochu wrote: Hi all, Mon, 23 Dec 2013 14:21:30 +0100, Andreas Kurth use...@akurth.de a écrit : Hello, I compiled enlightenment 0.18.0 today and now I see tons of SLEEP messages being logged to .xsession-errors very frequently: [...] ESTART: 1630,45112 [0,01165] - SLEEP ESTART: 1630,45860 [0,00748] - SLEEP ESTART: 1630,46173 [0,00313] - SLEEP [...] 0.18.0-rc1 did not behave like that, IIRC. I run Debian Jessie (64 bits) on a Dell Vostro. I also noticed that the messages stop when I switch to a tty (CTRL+ALT+F1) and resume as soon as I switch back to E (ALT+F7). Re: [e-users] Problems starting e17 0.17.4
Hi, About 2nd choice: if you start enlightenment without having the .e directory in your home, it will automatically launch a wizard to create a basic configuration for you. After that, you can disable the slash animation in a running Enlightenment instance. :) For the 3rd choice, here's a little guide: (on console) 1. Look for e.cfg bellow the .e directory. In my case, it's ~/.e/e/config/standard/e.cfg 2. eet -d e.cfg config content.txt 3. Edit content.txt, look for this line: value show_splash int: 1 Change 1 to 0 and save. 4. eet -e e.cfg config content.txt 1 Regards, ADA On 08/26/2013 12:43 AM, Teodoro Santoni wrote: I, for me, have sticked to 0.17.3. [e-users] Custom composite settings
Hi, I would like to know, if there's a documentation available about how to customize the behavior of compositing in Enlightenment? I've tried to stay away from it so far, because the additional eye candy destroyed the snappy feeling of the system. (It's nice visually, but I have to wait for fading in/out windows/menus...) Since it's the future from the technological point of view and it will be mandatory in the later releases, I would like to customize it to my liking. Basically, the only thing I want from it are the shadows, which are helping me to separate the different windows visually, especially when they're overlapping each other. The closest style to this is the one called none, but it also turns off shadows, while keeping the fading in/out of menus. I think this would be the starting point for me. Thanks in advance!
