I think it's perfect as in ef01c87b80

wobble was a bit too much, the blue flash is very nice,
nothing is visible on a maximized window, that's what I expected.

Hello,

maybe the buffer is not wide enough,
still I'll drop my 2 cents here,
when you deal with a command that generates 100'000+ lines,
you redirect its output into a file for further analysis
or into a command like grep for minimal filtering.

the themes are in INSTALL_DIR/share/terminology/themes/

should be /usr/share/terminology/themes/ on most systems

you'll find the 2 installed themes : default.edj and nyanology.edj

Re: [e-users] xdg-open troubles

2018-11-03 Thread Jérémy Zurcher
Hi,

you should first debug xdg-...

XDG_UTILS_DEBUG_LEVEL=2 xdg-mime query default 'text/html'

XDG_UTILS_DEBUG_LEVEL=2 xdg-mime query default 'bad/wrong' -> to see what files
are read

the enlightenment side is :
src/bin/e_open.c:116 snprintf(path, sizeof(path), "%s/mimeapps.list",
efreet_config_home_get());

- efreet_config_home_get()

https://www.enlightenment.org/_legacy_embed/group__Efreet__Base.html#ga6e9d83cdc5955f464ee2eab946c62e06
$XDG_CONFIG_HOME or $HOME/.config

so on a 'regular setup' everything boils down to : .config/mimeapps.list

you can remove e17 and terminology if your compiled one are working,
but I would leave Bodhi's efl untouched.

even if, obviously, efl has backward binary compatibility ... well
you know, it might crash.

I would just play with ldconfig, LD_PRELOAD ...

I think the best way to go is to clone efl and e from git.enlightenment.org,
compile and install them in another prefix so that you don't break your Bodhi
distro.

just follow the steps here

relevent e code is here :

Hi,

it's a pre processor macros
EAPI_MAIN -> EAPI -> __attribute__ ((visibility("default")))

so you can compile with -fvisibility=hidden and thus shrink the size of
your .so export table (only the EAPI marked symbols will be visible).

Re: [e-users] Recording sound and video from a window in Enlightenment.

that's in my todo for months, same issue here, no time at all (((

On Thursday 04 June 2015 15:25, David Seikel wrote :
I have a need to record sound and video from a particular window. I've
tried recordMyDesktop, but it can't handle specifying a particular
window, though it claims to. It might be some incompatibility with
E19. What happens is that I start it recording a particular window on
a particular virtual desktop, but when I move to another virtual
desktop, the recording moves with me, recording the other windows and
desktops, instead of sticking with recording the given window. Which
makes it tricky for lengthy recordings when I want to go do other things
 while I wait.

Now I know E could handle that to an extent, the pager shows real
time video of the correct window no matter what I do. So I figure half
the functionality is in there somewhere. Would be good if the other
half was in a module or something. I can't find any such module
though, and I don't feel like writing one right now (got no time lol).

I use Pulse for audio, and it would be great if it could record sound
from a specific Pulse device. I'd like to feed the the audio from the
window to my headphone device, then mute the headphones. So I don't
have to listen to it while recording, but can listen to other stuff,
and the recording doesn't pick up the other stuff. RecordMyDesktop can
deal with that, I tell Pulse to feed the monitor of my headphone
 device's output into recordMyDesktop.

Does any one know about any other video recording software that will do
what I need? Preferably something that works fine under Ubuntu 12.04.

lib/edje/edje.eo.c:328: you called func 'edje_obj_signal_emit' (345)
which is unknown in class 'Evas_Smart'.

The error is constantly being generated several times a second and
is filling the systemd journal.

The installed packages are:

enlightenment 0.18.8-1
elementary 1.10.0-1
efl 1.10.0-2

Is this a known issue that may have been fixed in e19?

e19 (git) does this much less - it's a harmless complaint about
someone using an interface that an object doesnn't support (eo is
designed to detect this and safely complain and march on with doing
   nothing).

I'm getting a similar message, only for Elm_Layout. Harmless other than
filling up logs and getting in the way of real error messages. Drop it
to warning or debug level? Get rid of it completely? Or some other way
to make this bogus error message go away?

it's not bogus. it's real. but just not harmful. its telling you that your api
call is basically a nop where you might expect it to actually do something
 (otherwise why call it?)

shouldn't we even add WRN() to eo_do(NULL, ... ) calls ??
loads of them in elm because of NULL wd-resize_obj.

Re: [e-users] Mixer module and pulseaudio

2014-06-26 Thread Jérémy Zurcher
Hi,

the mixer launches pulseaudio if not running then thies to connect to
it,it enventually falls back to alsa backend on failure
On Thursday 26 June 2014 11:06, Mick wrote :

I've recently installed pulseaudio because skype decided to have a hard

I am trying to understand how it is supposed to work, since its effects are
not transparent on my system. Sometimes the mixer will show all the various
audio sinks and sources (headphones, PCM, Master, Capture, Mic, etc.) that
good ol' alsa used to show. Other times it will only list:

the below it the poor pulse backend
RV710/730 HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 4000 series] Digital Stereo (HDMI)
 Built-in Audio Analog Stereo
Monitor of RV710/730 HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 4000 series] Digital Stereo (HDMI)
Monitor of Built-in Audio Analog Stereo
 Built-in Audio Analog Stereo

there are opened issues:
https://phab.enlightenment.org/T1059
https://phab.enlightenment.org/T1299
The problem is that the second headphone jack is always zeroed and muted -
actually it winds down to zero and mutes itself before my eyes if I launch
 Skype.

try to start pulseaudio before launching e,
that should confirm that there is an issue in the way mixer thrie to get
in touch with pulse
How is this meant to work and why does it switch between different lists?
There may be a pattern to it (i.e. having headphones inserted before booting
the laptop) but I have not yet undertaken any prolonged testing to determine
 this.

PS. Occasionally, the mixer gadget will not load/display on my desktop, but
restarting e, or rebooting, will bring it back up.

 PPS. I am running alsa-utils-1.0.27.2, pulseaudio-5.0-r2, on kernel-3.12.21
 on a gentoo system.

Re: [e-users] Mouse configuration changes after upgrading e17-e18

2014-05-01 Thread Jérémy Zurcher
An easy way to check if e18 correctly recieves your alt keycode is
to use Settings-Input-Key Bindings- ADD button,
and hit something like Alt-z, see what comes in ...

Can you go to Settings-Extensions-Modules-Settings? Check that the
  Input

Good question. I just checked and the module is loaded.

Seems like e18 is receiving your Alt keypress fine, it's just not
  configured
  to act on it.

How can you tell whether it is?

Another interesting test I just did:
I set right but on zone to show application menu
I set right but+alt on zone to also show application menu

Right but works, but right but + alt causes the mouse cursor to change
color to show the click, but no menu gets opened.
maybe it tries to show your empty Favorite Applications menu ??
which is de default right click behaviour.

 Mmmh, this is perplexing now...

To me, it looks like e18 does not see my alt key as alt.
When I press alt+but3 or ctrl+but3, I get the same thing, a cursor that
 changes color and that's it.

I do use xmodmap, but changed absolutely nothing from my setup that was
 working with e17.

Hi Marc,

you can edit the mouse bindings through Settings-Input-Mouse Bindings

cheers

Please tell me it's not so :-/

How do you resize a window withouth precisely grabbing the few pixels at the
 right corner without that?

 Thanks,
 Marc

ALT+But1+drag - move window under cursor
ALT+But2+drag - resize window from its nearest side or corner
But3 on the desktop does nothing now.

Are the button bindings I had lost on purpose or is it a bug?
Any idea how I can restore them?

My pidgin window is somehow minimized to a 4 pixel line, I can't use

Any idea how I can bring the window back to usable size?

  Thanks,

Re: [e-users] IBar e 0.18.5 not showing icons

2014-04-30 Thread Jérémy Zurcher
Hi,

are the icons in the Applications menu OK ?

check your XDG env : env | grep XDG
is efreetd running : ps aux | grep efreet
maybe clean it's cache : rm -fr ~/.cache/efreet/
or destroy your old ibar config : rm .e/e/config/standard/module.ibar.*

 what causes this hickup?
