I had exactly the same problem with Eterm. I also tried it under DR16

The process going crazy is X (in my case Xorg 6.8.2 under gentoo). When

btw: The cpu meter acted very strange when that happened: It showed

that's weird - it's possible e set up an event feedback loop (it does somethng
that generates an event that causes e to do that thing again that generates an

stuff i can't debug without help. ir could be urxvt or eterm not liking being
in a utf8 encoded locale and doing x operations eating up cpu on the x side.
i'm not sure really.

it may be that urxvt inherits the locale settings from e17 - and that means it
likely is in a utf8 locale. maybe it doesnt like that. check your environment
settings to see if they differ. but its urxvt eating up the cpu there. it's
some urxvt issue.

Regarding the cpu-usage, I was using the following options:
urxvt -tr -sh 95 -tint white +sb -geometry 100x32, and with this, the
monitor fly to 101%!

With urxvt -tr +sb it behaves much better..

I use:

$ urxvt -rv +sb -tr -fade 70 -sl 5000 -tint white -sh 40

Now is my turn to ask what program is it :)
What are the terminals? It says urxvt on the window, but there are 3
rxvt-like terminals, such as: rxvt, mrxvt, rxvt-unicode. Which one is
he/she using? Or, which one is a good one and provides me that nice
transparency?
BTW, I'm using enlightenment 17. I always use xterm but I can't get transparency (even that I almost haven't tried).
Cheers,

Hi!

That's rxvt-unicode. and you have to force pseudo transparency with
Esetroot (part of Eterm)

Hello!

I think that the u in urxvt stands for unicode, so it should be
rxvt-unicode :)
If you want to get fake transparency with E17, you have to use
e17setroot; just
check http://www.get-e.org/User_Guide/English/_pages/3.4.html to get
started :)

Cheers!

mrxvt is really awesome, though I'm not sure it's developer is ever
going to have free time enough to continue workin on it =/ Hasn't
updated his site in a few months now.
