[e-users] gray borders on iconbox and pager

2003-06-21 Thread Andrea Spadaccini
Hi everyone,
I run E v. 16.5 (the one that comes with MDK 9.1), and I installed some themes, but I
use only aquae.

The problem is that the borders of Iconbox and Pager are gray, and I think that I
messed up something.. How can I fix it?

TIA

 E does the rest.

Ok, thanks!

For editing manualy, look into ~/.enlightenment/.snapshot.0

Maybe this is better, I need to run some shell scripts!

There's no right-click mouse and I can't manage to drag'n'drop them.

I am also curious about this one.

Just read the faq, it's an epplet library issue

[e-users] Problems compiling E 16.6pre4

2003-06-28 Thread Andrea Spadaccini
I run ./configure, with a suggested option (--with-lib=/usr/lib/libpng.so), and
configure says that:

[snip lots of positive outputs]
checking for IMLIB - version = 1.9.8... yes
checking for Fnlib_init in -lFnlib... no
ERROR: Enlightenment needs a system with libFnlib.so (Fnlib)
You can obtain it from:
ftp://ftp.enlightenment.org/pub/enlightenment/
ftp://www.rasterman.com/pub/enlightenment/
ftp://ftp.labs.redhat.com/pub/fnlib/
configure: error: Fatal Error: no Fnlib detected.

but look at this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] enlightenment-0.16.6]$ locate libFnlib
/usr/lib/libFnlib.so.0.5.0
/usr/lib/libFnlib.so.0

what do I have to do?
the option is not relevant, because i run ./configure too, but.. same issue. I use
Mandrake Linux 9.1

  Hi everyone,

I correctly choose the windows to remember, but when I start it
again there are multiple copies of my epplets (E-Xmms, E-Cpu,
E-Clock), in other positions than the others in which I left them.

there should be no reason to tell E which epplets to remember, since
epplets are always remembered until you close them.

I didn't tell E to remember epplets: I just opened the remember dialog and I saw
that my epplets where automatically remembered. I deselected the epplets in excess,
but it didn't work.

as for the multiple epplets thing, as you say in the other mail, it's
a libepplet issue, but you can avoid it simply by following a few
 rules:
 - don't use other session managers, such as gnome-session or kde,
 under E; just plain E!

I don't use session managers nor login managers. I use startx to start X, and my
default wmanager is E.

 - don't kill E, always close it gracefully.

This could be the problem. I use an alias for sudo /sbin/shutdown -h
now, and I run it from my custom menu

 - maybe others, I don't know.

that's just what I heard here about this problem, but I have to say
that I never had to face it :)

Lucky boy.. ;)

If you are just putting a plain startx there, everytime you want to open a
terminal (like Eterm or aterm) your computer will try to start
 X.

You're right

With the lines above X will be started only once, right after your
 login as root.

Or if you aren't using X in that moment

I know this problem well, but not in such a extrem way you described it...
As I read it should be an error in the libepplet or so...

I read it too, but it was really messy

I'm gonna rename E-Cpu.epplet and E-Clock.epplet, but I'd like to solve
the problem in a better and less rough way: can you guys help me?

I do it in another way:

[snip]

NEW. I hope it helps you.

Thanks, I solved the problem!

Does someone has an idea for a kind of workarround or patch?
Here on my MDK9.1 with e16.6 I have this problem about every two weeks, so
 it's not s bad, but it's not nice :-)

And now.. here's my little workaround (it works, at least for me :)
copy your ...e_session-XX.snapshots.0 to another place than
~/.enlightenment, and edit it in order to have only the epplets you want.

add to your ~/.bash_profile the following:

cp -f /home/USER/...e_session-XX.snapshots.0 /home/USER/.enlightenment/

and you'll solve the problem! :)
but.. I do not use Remember, but I think that those who use that feature
will have problems!
