[Evolution] Help with speeding up Evolution over cifs Share
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had some pointers to try and establish where we are getting a bottleneck in speed. We have pam_mounted cifs shares as user home directories and its all ok and good, until evolution come to storing folders at which point it can stall for a while (1500mails in inbox). Don't think its network, 1GB link... so either Samba server or Evolution not liking the cifs mount. So we sym linked the .evolution folder to a folder on the hard disk of the machine. Quick as anything. The difference seems to be instantaneous (local HDD) to 70sec over cifs. Appreciate this is probably not an evolution issue, but had to start somewhere. Any pointers greatly appreciated. Re: [Evolution] different From- and To-Header for different folders

Each mailing list has his own folder and I access my mailbox via IMAP. Now I want to set the From- and To-Header regulated by the folder currently showed. For example If i compose a new mail at the evolution-list-folder To should be set to evolution-list@gnome.org and From to the address I'm subscribed to the mailing list. If you set up account info for each of your different addresses, this should happen automatically. It does for me. What do you mean exactly? I have a account for every mail address I use. The complete Inbox comes from one IMAP account. Now I would like to say: - If I'm at INBOX.gnome.evolution and start a new mail than set From to i...@foo.com and To to evolution-list@gnome.org - If I'm at INBOX.gnome.love and start a new mail than set my From to i...@foo.com and To to gnome-l...@gnome.org etc. At the moment I always have to check the From header by my own and also insert the right To-address. Are there some setting so that Evolution does this automatically? If I can use the account info you described, than please give me a small hint how to set this up. Thanks a lot!
