If you made the backup with the later version of Ubuntu, and hence a
later version of Evolution, then it is unlikely to work since there is
no downgrade path. The important thing is that there were significant
folder structure changes between 2.28 and 2.32 (which is what I seem to
remember people saying was in Ubuntu 11.04 - I don't know, I don't use
it). Specifically, Evolution's data store changed from being
under .evolution to .local/share/evolution (as per Gnome standards).

It is likely that your data is in the file, but it's not going to be
immediately accessible - if you are desperate you are going to have to
untar the file into a temporary folder, recreate the accounts manually
in Evo, and then import all the data by hand.

Re: [Evolution] Filters for Evolution

2011-07-21 Thread Pete Biggs

So, am testing it now, ver 2.30.3. I sent an email, created a filter
on the person, created folders, hit Ctrl-Y and no filtering.

If you want to filter on outgoing email then you have to create the
filter before you send the email. You also have to ensure that the
filter is created in the 'outgoing' filter chain.

Also, as Patrick said, Ctrl-Y filters selected messages - if you don't
have any messages selected, or the selected message doesn't match a
filter, then nothing will happen.

The evolution version in ubuntu 11.04 (natty) is 2.32. Somebody has
provided some backports of this version to 10.04 (lucid). See:

Or even better. Use the cookbook instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebootstrapChroot to create a natty (11.04)
chroot jail within your lucid box. Install the regular evolution inside
the jail. You need to be somewhat literate regarding basic system
administration, shell usage on linux, though. If not, you may know
somebody with such skills to help you.

Kindly don't hijack threads. Your message was unrelated to the topic of
this thread. Either reply in the right thread or create a new message

Adding off-topic to the Subject is not the way to deal with this.
Off-topic in a Subject means that the message is only marginally
relevant to the concerns of the list, not the thread.

We're still waiting for Google to expose Google Tasks through its CalDAV
interface, which is what we already use to access Google Calendars.

Is it available through ActiveSync yet?
