$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: VLookup Query.??????................Plz Help

2010-09-22 Thread Cloud
Hi Noorain,

Correct me if I am wrong. What you are trying to do in this function
is to bring up the relevant data from 3 different worksheets. In the
event, that one worksheet does not have the data, the formula will
cycle through to the other worksheet. However, using the OR function
here will not serve that purpose ,what you need to use instead is the
IF function.

=IF(NOT(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(B3,Raw_Data1!$A$2:$F
$50,2,FALSE))),VLOOKUP(B3,Raw_Data1!$A$2:$F
$50,2,FALSE),IF(NOT(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(B3,Raw_Data2!$A$2:$F
$50,2,FALSE))),VLOOKUP(B3,Raw_Data2!$A$2:$F
$50,2,FALSE),VLOOKUP(B3,Raw_Data3!$A$2:$F$50,2,FALSE)))

Try using the formula above and everything should fall into place.

Regards,
Cloud

$$Excel-Macros$$ UserForm

2010-09-22 Thread mikeb
I would appreciate some help/guidance for doing the following. I
would like to create a userform, ( which is triggered by an action
taken in a cell on another sheet called test1 in the workbook), with
five variables each with it’s own checkbox; the checkbox information
will be a 1 or 0 and will be placed / saved / copied into separate
columns “M through Q” , with the new data being added to row below
each time the userform is triggered the information is placed on a
different sheet test2 cloumns “M through Q”in the same workbook. I
would like the userform to have an OK button on it so once the user is
finished choosing variable 1 thru 5 or all five, and licks on the OK
button the userform will close.

In addition to capturing the userform information information I would
like to then copy three other cells on the same row in sheet test1 to
be copied to the same row and dedicated columns in sheet test2, that
we are placing the userform information.

Thank you,

MikeB

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ hi-- how to transpose data in the similar gap from notepad to excel

2010-09-22 Thread Abhidha Dixit
Hi Vijay

I want the format as it is in the notepad eg if there is 2 spacebar distance
between the columns , and we transfer that to excel it should take the same
distance so that if we want to save this excel to notepad again ( after
calculation) the same distance of space ber should be maintained

My problem is if I transfer the data from this notepadd to excel and again
if I want to save the same data from excel to notepad then the previous
alignment gets disturbed

hope this is clear will be greatful if this could resolved

2010-09-22 Thread Paul Schreiner
You could use:

=MID(A2,FIND("80",A2),8)

this would only work if:
"80" only appears once
the # is 8 characters long

$$Excel-Macros$$ Excel quiz

2010-09-22 Thread Ayush

Dear Group,

A small quiz for you...let see who answers it first and correct

A raise to the power B equals C
example 2 raise to the power 5 equals 32

Now you have to tell me how would you calculate the third variable if
you have only two variables ...

Calculate A if B& C is given

Calculate B if A & C is given

Calculate C if A & B is given

You have to provide excel formula only...no VBA allowed

$$Excel-Macros$$ Open a protected excel file via a DOS command

2010-09-22 Thread EvilButterfly
Dear all,
I have a question about excel file protection. I would like to know if
it is possible to open an excel file with a password for protection
for opening via a msdos command.

Something like:
c:\"MyFile.xls" (password for opening)

The goal is to open it automatically with the windows tasks schedule
via a dos command.
If you have another solution that would be cool too.

Thanks in advance.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ hi-- how to transpose data in the similar gap from notepad to excel

2010-09-22 Thread P.VIJAYKUMAR
Hello

You can copy the text in to excel and to break excel in the format as it is
in not pad you have to you text to columns in the review menu of menu
bar.If you text is separated by comma or colon or space or other delimiters
you can choose delimited option and choose the symbol that separates text
and excel will break the text into columns wherever the delimiter is there.
If there is no such delimiter is there the you can choose fixed option. In
fixed option you can place the arrows where you want to break the text into
columns and press the next button and once it is finished excel will break
the text into columns where you placed the arrows. But, select the first
column where you copied the text to break into columns or otherwise it will
not work properly. For more information see. this

Split names by using the Convert Text to Columns Wizard

Use the Convert Text to Columns Wizard to separate simple cell content, such
as first names and last names, into different columns.
*Full name* *First name* *Last name* Syed Abbas Syed
Abbas Molly
Dempsey Molly Dempsey Lola Jacobsen Lola Jacobsen Diane Margheim
  Diane Margheim

Depending on your data, you can split the cell content based on a delimiter,
such as a space or a comma, or based on a specific column break location
within your data.
What do you want to do?

Split content based on a delimiter

Use this method if your names have a delimited format, such as "First_name
Last_name" (where the space between First_name and Last_name is the
delimiter) or "Last_name, First_name" (where the comma is the delimiter).
Split space-delimited content

To complete these steps, copy the following sample data to a blank
worksheet.
