OWA 5.5 question

2001-11-17 Thread Edgington, Jeff

I'm going to have to install an OWA server for Exchange 5.5 and I'm reading
through my notes... all looks like I remember with one exception... I seem
to remember that I changed a file so that my users would not have to use
domain\username when logging in.. just username.. I don't see this in
my notes, but I KNOW I did changed a file for this to occur... anyone
remember what the changes are (actually I think it was two files)?

Thanks for any help you can provide... for the life of me I can't find this
documented in a Q article or any of the exchange sites I visit.

RE: OWA 5.5 question

2001-11-17 Thread Chris Scharff

It's done in the IIS Admin if that helps at all... I'm not in front of a
server at the moment, so can't give you the exact steps, but I thought it
was a button on the authentication tab.

Two E-Mail Domain Names

2001-11-17 Thread Richard

We are planning to support two e-mail domain names on the same Exchange
Server. This will continue for an extended time and maybe forever. Any
advice on handling this configuration would be appreciated.

one wonders after the announcment at comdex that IM will become a .NET
server service, and thus move out of the Exchange product, whether there
will be any continued support of this.

Has anyone heard anything about a timetable for release of IM client 4.5
for
Exchange? The Windows update site has a link and paragraph about the
Exchange version, but it takes you to the 3.5 version download page.

Thanks for any info.

the attribute is called msExchPoliciesExcluded. you'd have to
programatically set that attribute to get the box to be unchecked.

Moving 45 users between sites

2001-11-17 Thread Mark Hanji

Hello.

I need to move 45 users from one site to another site, within the same Org
(all is 5.5, SP4).
The built-in move mailbox wizard works within site.
The exmerge will export to .pst, thus, the users will loose their ID in the
exchange org...

What is the best way to accomplish this? I would like them not to feel this
move.
(I know I will need to re-build their profile).

Thanks!

Re: Event ID 4128 and Event ID 4093

2001-11-17 Thread Mark Hanji

hmmm

If you get hit by the nimda virus, it can spread via OWA.
I think it is a good idea to run file-server-based anti-virus on the
exchange server,
to scan webdata directory.

What do you think?
