BlackBerry with Nextel and or T-Mobile?

2003-03-03 Thread Ryan Finnesey
Is anyone using blackberry's from Nextel or T-Mobile? We are looking
at moving to a new network because we would like to use them in the US
and also the UK.

RE: BlackBerry with Nextel and or T-Mobile?

2003-03-03 Thread Hanna, Keith
Currently trialling the T-mobile in the UK.
(Our BES is in the US), so are attempting to use the 'roaming' features.
So far, T-mobile has only just agreed roaming terms in the uk, so the email
functionality hasn't been working[1], but the voice has been ok.

I've left it off for a couple of weeks, but have just received an update that the
roaming is in place, so should be kicking off our trial again this week. I'll keep you
posted.

Moved Mailboxes not acting right

2003-03-03 Thread Joshua R. Morgan
I added a new server to our site, I moved Mailboxes to it and now it
appears that those mailboxes are only able to send and receive messages
to people that are on their Server. After about 12 hours I get a message
stating:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.

Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed.

I've done mailbox moves before and never had this issue, anyone got any
ideas?

Windows 2000 SP3
Exchange Server 2000 SP3

TIA,
Joshua

RE: Wanting to get off Outlook 98

2003-03-03 Thread ml.exchange
Or if you don't feel like paying for more/new Office licenses, each of your Exchange
5.5 CAL's comes with the right to use Outlook 2000. You can install
that with Office 97 instead of Outlook 98. If you are licensed with Exchange 2000
CAL's you can deploy Outlook 2002 for each CAL. Microsoft will tell you
this if you ask, they just don't like too.

That's what I'd do - get the newest technology that your systems can handle. I assume
you already have Exchange 5.5 -- Get Office XP, which comes with OL

If you're really three years away from AD then Exchange 5.5+SP4+various patches is the
only choice. Exchange 2000 and beyond *require* AD.

Outlook XP will still talk to Exchange 5.5.

Fmuuh? Microsoft doesn't like too (sic) tell current or potential customers
of product availability that is already very widely published and known?
It's not like Microsoft is reaping humongous amounts of extra profit for
every Exchange 2000 CAL that is sold and for which Outlook 97 is used.

Netbackup

2003-03-03 Thread Boynton, Todd
Is it just me, or is Netbackup a bear to get installed and configured
properly? I've gone through every setup guide I can find online and I
still can get it to run properly. Getting errors like the following:

Subject: Backup on poplar.unet. - 71 started

Backup by administrator on client poplar.unet.maine.edu.

Status = none of the files in the file list exist.

/C/Program Files/VERITAS/NetBackup/logs/user_ops/admin000/logs/NBWIN002
may have more information.

File list
-
/Microsoft Information Store/
/Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes/

Of course the NBWIN002 log has no other info in it.

Anyone had this problem before?

Mothballing a system

2003-03-03 Thread Jim Liddil
Let's say the comapny you work for let's everyone go and then hires the IT
guy back as a subcontractor to manage the system and take care of things on
a short term basis. Part of this invovles dealing with the 20 or so
exchange accounts. What kind of approach to archiving, dealing with IP
related stuff etc. would you take? There is no budget so it has to be done
with the tools at hand native to exchange, resource kit etc.

Windows 2000 vpn

2003-03-03 Thread Tener, Richard
Hello,

We use routing and remote access for people to connect to our
exchange server and have problems with thier connection. For some reason
when people connect to the server they receive an error that their Microsoft
exchange server is busy. To fix the problem they have to disconnect their
network connection and reconnect to the vpn and then they can get into the
exchange server. I set lmhosts file on every client pc to connect to the
exchange server. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem.

Joshua

Let's say the comapny you work for let's everyone go and then hires the IT
guy back as a subcontractor to manage the system and take care of things on
a short term basis. Part of this invovles dealing with the 20 or so
exchange accounts. What kind of approach to archiving, dealing with IP
related stuff etc. would you take? There is no budget so it has to be done
with the tools at hand native to exchange, resource kit etc.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that you would be using LMHOSTS. You
also need DNS name resolution capability. Whether you do that the
correct way or through the use of HOSTS files is your call.

RE: Windows 2000 vpn

2003-03-03 Thread Dan Bartley
Is this everyone or just some. Is WINS being used? One of the
increasingly common problems for me has been private side networks on
DSL and Cable connections.

Many networks are set up to use default private IP space. Many routers
and cable/dsl modems do the same. As a result the private side of the
DSL/Cable is using the same address space as the Exchange network.
Therefore just a little routing confusion on the client side develops.
It usually shows when trying to reach an Exchange server before anywhere
else.

Just a possibility. I've actually had almost half my VPN routing issues
turn out to be this.

Best Regards,
Dan Bartley

Exchange Server IP changed

2003-03-03 Thread BY

Dear all,

Current environment:

A single NT 4 Domain

1 x Exchange Bridgehead Server 5.5 with SP4 installed running on NT4
member server with SP5 installed

1 x Exchange Mailbox Server 5.5 with SP4 installed running on NT4 member
server with SP5 installed

Do you think my Exchange server will still function as normal when I am
assigning them with new IP addresses? My guess is NO, but I wish someone
who has done it before can share their experience with me.

Thank you.
