RE: exchange 2003 ma!lbox move fa!lure

2003-11-24 Thread Chad Gibson
Under your recipient policies. Look at the properties of the policy with
the highest priority. Go into the properties. Go to the email address tab.
What is checked in there?? Got anything like rfax or something odd?

Subject: exchange 2003 ma!lbox move fa!lure

first xch 2003 server in xch 5.5 site. everything has gone by the book so
far and first mailbox move went great from local 5.5 sp4 server to xch 2003
server. every move after that has failed with:

item adsPath=LDAP://kaobrands.net/cn=Basrai\,
Huzaifah,ou=Users,ou=SAP,dc=kbc,dc=kaobrands,dc=net class=user
progress code=0 milliseconds=14625Preparing mailbox to be
moved./progress
- summary isWarning=false errorCode=0xc1041724
An internal processing error has occurred. Try restarting the Exchange
System Manager or the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, or both.

I found two articles:

one on having anti virus (none on server) and one on rebuilding the RUS. I
have done that twice now and even let it sit over the weekend to no avail.

Any others seen this or have suggestions?

I have tried to move mailboxes using:

ESM on mail server
ESM on GC server
DSA.MSC on mail server and GC server

TIA

Chris

Public Folder Replication

2003-11-05 Thread Chad Gibson
I’m having problems with some of my folders that are not replicating to
the New 2003 server form a 5.5 server.

I’ve searched and seen that people have had this issue and I can’t seem to
find a fix.

Some of my public folders are not getting replicated, if you look in the
replication status you see that they are still “local modified”

There are two issues that are weird…it seems this only happens to folders
that are nested several time. Also the folder directly above it did not
have an associated SMTP address…it was never mail to so the address was
removed.

I fixed one of them yesterday but dont know what I did to get it going
again?!

Can anyone point me to anything that will get my replication going on
these last few folders??

Thanks!

IS Maintenance

2002-01-15 Thread Chad Gibson

What is the best practice for IS maintenance?? Do you have it run
everyday, twice a week? Also do you switch the view to 15 minute and just
add a block to the time you want IS maintenace to start??

Public IS Lost Email Addresses

2002-01-14 Thread Chad Gibson

EX 5.5 SP4 NT 4.0 SP 6a

Per the request of PSS, they had me export my pub is to a pst then restore
it back into a clear pub is. When I did that it lost all of the email
addresses associated with the public folders. I still have a copy of my
orginal pub.edb so I removed the new one with the messed up address and
put it back in, did an isinteg -patch, cleared logs, and brought the
server back up. Still the the email addresses are messed up on my public
folders?! Anyone tell me what I am doing wrong to get the correct
addresses to the correct folders?

Event Service Won't Start or Install

2002-01-10 Thread Chad Gibson

Ex 5.5 SP3 NT 4.0 SP6a

I'd been getting errors about the event service not starting with the
following errors:

Source: MSExchangeES
EventID: 5

An unexpected MAPI error occurred. Error returned was [0x80004005].

This is a public folder server. The event service stopped and could not
be restarted and gave me that error. I've tried to unistall the event
service and reinstall it, that temporaily worked. Then it stopped again.
Now when I try to reinstall the event service, I get this error and the
install fails. The event service is listed under services, but when you
run the exchange setup the event service is unchecked.

Thanks for the help!

OWA Change Password IIS 5.0

2001-11-26 Thread Chad Gibson

I have exchange 5.5 sp4 running on a windows 2k box. I want to be able to
allow my users to change there 4.0 domain password over the OWA interface.
I have the SSL key installed, however it seems that the iisadmpwd is not
included in IIS 5.0. Is there another way to do this? or do I have to be
running NT 4.0? Anyone had any success??

Thanks

I just recently had to do this on my laptop running 2k server. To enable

  Hi All,

I have a user who converted to Exchange and is using
 Outlook 2000. He
wishes to use Offline Folders, but the option is greyed out.

He's also got Internet email enabled.

What could cause the Offline folders to be unavailable?
 Even in the
Options under Mail Services the option is unavailable.

I've only got 2 hours to figure this out !

  Thanks in advance,

Clean out Public Folders

Is there a way to set up a public folder to purge its content after a
