PST Problem
I have a user that is a exchange environment. Everytime she uses her local address book to send a e-mail, her outlook shuts down. Also I have a user that has a 1.7gb .PST file, that is corrupted. Is 1.7gb to big for a PST file ? Also is a way to repair that file? Thanks Guy Stewart MyMyComputerguy.com Inc. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Tony Hlabse Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2003 5:08 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Re: M: Drive Removal All Lead Consultants do it. RE: Calendar
Yes it is very easy. You just set permisions on the calander of each users. Just right click on the calander and set up the permsions. Go to another outlook user on exchange server, and go to file and open and locate the user you set and you will see the calander. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Aamir Hanif Sent: Tuesday, April 08, 2003 9:37 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Calendar Guys: Has anyone set up a central calendar in Exchange i.e. a calendar where anyone, who has the permissions, can update information that everyone, who has an account, can view? God Bless America
THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Move Exchange 5.5 mail boxes and public forlders to a Windows 2k Server
Hello: I am moving 40 mail boxes from a Windows NT 4.0 Domain (Exchange server 5.5) to a New Windows 2000 Server using Exchange Server 5.5. I will preform a backup of all exchange files on a tape. Also I will use the Exmerge utility on each mailbox to create a .pst files, in case the tape backup fails. I have my check list set up. Is this right ??? 1. Running DC Promo on the New Windows 2000 Server, and setting up the users. (Not migrating them, just entering them in the new server). 2. Establishing communication with the two domains (the old domain and the new domain). I will use the Rpinps utility to test the communication between the two domains. The rpings (batch file) will be place on the old server and executed in command prompt (rpings p tcpip). The rpings.32 file will be placed in the new windows 200 server, and will be tested for 10 pings. 3. Install Exchange server 5.5 and during setup join the existing site. Install service pack 4. 4. Set up a test mail box and try moving it to the new domain/windows 2000 computer. 5. Move the real mallboxes to the new server. (Select the mailbox, then select tools move mailbox) 6. Move the public folders to the new server within the site please see Article ID: Q185043 ( How to Re-home Public Folders Using 5.5 Admin Program). This proceeder will move the public folders to the windows 2000 server. I will have placed the used in the new server, but I will not miragte them!!!) 7. The new windows 2000 server must be configure as the Gobal Catalog server in the exchange enviroment. Please see Article ID: Q275127. This will place the new server has the primary controler in the exchange enviroment. 8. Finaly the old server must be removed from the Exchange server site. Please see Article ID: Q152959 ( How to Remove the First Exchange Server in a Site). 9. Pray !!
