RE: LDAP Issues

2002-10-02 Thread Murray-Smith Tony CF CH

Kishore

This is probably blindingly obvious, but you are not actually using
DC=mydomain,DC=com as your search string are you? This was only intended
as an example. For example, my search base would be DC=cibasc,DC=com, as
this is the domain name (in distinguished name format) of the AD domain that
contains my user objects.

Thanks everyone who responded to my this problem. I'm using GC at port 3268
. Here are the error messages I get :

If I use base search c=us , I get Operation Error
If I use base search DC=mydomain,DC=com , I get LDAP Referral Received and
than No search Result found errors.

I have been looking everywhere I can possibly get help , my last alternative
probably would be to call PSS . If someone can please show me more lights on
this , I'll really appreciate that.

Thanks ,

Thanks for replying Tony. Not of course I'm using DC=pricesystems,DC=com as
my search strings but it says no results found in the search criteria.

RE: LDAP Issues

2002-10-01 Thread Murray-Smith Tony CF CH

The authentication within the LDAP service will need to be updated with the
new details. In the User Name section, enter user's name either in UPN or
Distinguished Name format, e.g.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

or

CN=myuser,CN=Users,DC=mydomain,DC=com

Choose a suitable search base, e.g.

DC=mydomain,DC=com

or

CN=Users,DC=mydomain,DC=com

Also make sure that you that the server host name points to an AD Domain
Controller. Use the default LDAP port or, if the DC is configured as a
Global Catalog server you could use port 3268.

RE: Custom Recipient / Pagers

2002-09-18 Thread Murray-Smith Tony CF CH

It's great that it worked for you Robert.

The only limitation with this approach is if the mailbox associated with the
SMTP address is hidden or deleted (tombstoned). In such cases the Alt K
would not find a match. In this case an ldap query would be the better
approach. A good utility to run ldap queries is LDP.EXE, a support tool
that comes with Windows 2000 Server.

It is necessary to bind in Admin mode when searching for hidden or deleted
objects. The following article provides information on how to do this.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q196850;

Enter it into a new mail message and let the name resolve or hit Alt + K
and it will resolve to the owner.

We have 500 pagers setup as custom recipients on our Exchange 5.5 server.
When trying to
add a new custom recipient for a particular pager, I receive an error

Is there any way to do a search on SMTP addresses, so I can find out who is
using this address, or
do I have to manually click on all 500 custom recipients until I find the
correct one?  Mercy, please say
it isn't so.

RE: Custom Recipient / Pagers

2002-09-17 Thread Murray-Smith Tony CF CH

You could run a directory export and then search the output file.
Alternatively you could run an ldap search against the directory with a
search filter like this:

(|(rfc822Mailbox=smtpaddr)(otherMailbox=smtpaddr))

When one of our users schedule a meeting, he is getting a response

One of these responses is from a user who is not even on the
system (Been deleted a few weeks ago) the other was a out of office reply
from a user not invited??

Any Ideas?

You can change it in the Default SMTP Virtual Server Properties using the

Hi

We have multiple Exchange 2k servers.
Is it possible to change the SMTP port from the default of 25 to something
else.? as another software that we use uses port 25 to capture all SMTP
traffic and then pass it on to the Exchange server.
This software is also installed on the same server as Exchange is.

We were able to do this with Exchange 5.5 and IMS.

Thanks in advance.
