You could export the whole calendar to a CSV, clear it out with Exmerge,
OWA, or an old Exchange client, and then import the CSV. This will convert
all the reoccurring appointments into separate appointments extending some
distance into the future, thereby fixing the problem if it is being caused
by a corrupted reoccurrer.

Criminy, what if you aren't allowed to run OWA? I think I'll still try an
older exchange client.

Most likely you have a corrupted recurrning appointment in your resource
mailbox. The only way to fix that I know is to access that calendar via
OWA and delete the suspected corrupted recurring appointment. I believe
there's a Microsoft Q article regarding this problem as well. Exporting
to PST will not fix the problem either since Outlook will hang when you
try to view Calendar in PST.

Good morning,

Outlook 98 Exchange 5.5 sp4

We have a resource called OHR10. When trying to access the calendar for
this resource via Outlook the workstation clocks. We have to do a CTRL
ALT DEL to get out of this loop.

We can access this calendar from OWA without a problem.

We have tried to Import the mailbox to a PST but once again when the
task gets into Calendar it clocks the work station. And we once again
have to CTRL ALT DEL to get out.

Does anyone have any suggestions on making this work?

Have a great weekend.

Try running scanpst on the pst file you exported multiple times. I just had
this happen, and scanpst didn't fix it, but your mileage may vary if you are
lucky.

RE: Unable to get to Resource calendar

2002-01-18 Thread Hunter, Lori

Oh!! Sorry. Gotcha. I got a PST created, but now I can't do anything with
it. I have not yet tried Mr. Scharff's suggestion about using a client
other than Outlook. Might try that then, install Exchange client 4.0 or 5.0
and have a look that way. I did the /clean every friggin thing, and it's
still messed up.

The theory is, if you can get a PST that you can look at you can drag and
drop back items individually until one goes wacky on you. That's the one
not to copy. But I can't even get that far with mine.

Good luck Mike - I hate it when my resouce accounts go south.

You could export the whole calendar to a CSV, clear it out with Exmerge, OWA, or an
old Exchange client, and then import the CSV. This will convert all the reoccurring
appointments into separate appointments extending some distance into the future,
thereby fixing the problem if it is being caused by a corrupted reoccurrer.

RE: Unable to get to Resource calendar

2002-01-18 Thread Nikki Cleland - ITCX

Just a thought, what if you went through the control panel and changed the
mail profile delivery to go to a pst? Would that suck everything into a pst
for perusal?

Also, I think you can use the ...outlook.exe /safe switch to open the
mailbox without tripping any processes.
