Jennifer, Is that going to work? In his 8:35am post, he clarified that he was using Ex5.5. Isn't the dsa.msc the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC snap-in? Wouldn't he be using this only if he was running E2k? Or is Tim so confused that he doesn't even realize what version of Exchange he is running? Have to admit, it sure looks like E2k to me, as I don't recognize the format of the solution at the bottom of the numerical code error. yes I have a client with a small business server running exchange. I'm new to exchange and I'm having some problems. When you try and send them e-mail you get an NDR. I found an article with the fix for it but I'm not sure how to configure it here is the fix from the article Troubleshooting: This happens when contactA has an alternate recipient that points to contactB which then has an alternate recipient that points back to contactA . Check the contact's alternate recipient. Check and remove targetAddress attribute from mailbox-enabled users. Sounds like the custom receipient address is wrong. Look for the globe thingy in your address book and check that's it's valid address if you are forwarding a users mail externally. The article below reads a mail look to me however. Clarify: Are you sending to a client running exchange that is not part of your exchange organisation? What does the NDR say? it's actually happening to 3 people out of the 5 and it open happens periodically. Sometimes you can send them mail and sometimes you get that Reply??? The owner of the company set it up the server first and it was all jacked up I've ironed out most of the wrinkles except this. Like I said I'm very new to the exchange game. So, do the receipients exist or not? Are you pulling them from an old pab or contacts list and their e-mail addresses have changed?
