A lot of people thought the CW's "The Messengers" was going to go down
this road but they were surprised with episode 2 where they reveal that
the "events" referenced in the Bible are "symbolic".

No heaven are hell are harmed in this film. And Cloe saves the
day! Kind of a spoiler but then you'll want to see how. The
whole scenario gets really preposterous.

How popular is the "left behind" idea in the US really?

I don't know but years ago Judy couldn't believe I had never heard
of the books. A lot of people will watch the movies because they
are so bad and stupid. I almost turned it off after 10 minutes
but decided to see where they took it and how bad it was going to be.

Have you seen HBO's take on this called "The Leftovers"? It was
really weird and there is a second season this year.

No, as I say we don't get any of these sort of ultra-Christian
beliefs over here, it's still a bit more like tea on the vicarage
lawn. The most radical any church here gets is a guitar and a bit
of clapping in the service. My next door neighbour belongs to one
but he doesn't proselytise so I don't know what his beliefs are,
which is a shame as I'd like to know the current state of English
dreaming.

LOL, he asked me what I did for a living when we first met and I
told him I worked for the TMO and he looked like I'd slapped him
he was so shocked but he didn't say anything, which is a shame as
I'm as up for philosophocal debate with him as I was with the TM
teachers.

Cage sorta went from one extreme to another. He won critical acclaim

These guys make movie after movie about an ex CIA or other clandestine
operative who gets worked up about something, usually under
provocation by bad guys, who then does horrid things to said bad guys
that everyone would judge him for if he were a bad guy, but its ok cuz
he's the good guy and they are bad. Lots of car chase scenes, lots of

That would have been "What the Bleep Do We Know," or whatever it was called.
Yeah, that was a real trip. I knew Bill Arnst, the guy who produced it, from
the Rama trip. When I knew him, he was a pretty down-to-earth guy, having
parlayed some money he'd earned as a child actor into a computer company that
he then sold for many millions of dollars.

I lost touch with him when we both walked away from the Rama trip (for
different reasons but at about the same time), and found myself somewhat
shocked when I found out that he'd hooked up with the Ramtha crowd. I always
felt that was a serious "step down" from the Rama vibe.

I never saw the film in a theater but had the incredibly fun experience of
watching it in my living room with Robert Crumb. We laughed so hard I thought
our sides would fall off.  :-)

No heaven are hell are harmed in this film. And Cloe saves the day!
Kind of a spoiler but then you'll want to see how. The whole scenario
gets really preposterous.

I don't know but years ago Judy couldn't believe I had never heard of
the books. A lot of people will watch the movies because they are so
bad and stupid. I almost turned it off after 10 minutes but decided to
see where they took it and how bad it was going to be.

Have you seen HBO's take on this called "The Leftovers"? It was really
weird and there is a second season this year.

Cage is one of those actors, like Liam Neeson and Denzel Washington who either
have a very expensive drug and or alcohol habit, or indulge in expensive
hobbies, or have numerous ex wives who demand millions in alimony and child
support or else they just get bored easily if they are not working in their
chosen field.
These guys make movie after movie about an ex CIA or other clandestine
operative who gets worked up about something, usually under provocation by bad
guys, who then does horrid things to said bad guys that everyone would judge
him for if he were a bad guy, but its ok cuz he's the good guy and they are
bad. Lots of car chase scenes, lots of shooting and fighting and a boatload of
folks get killed. And star always survives to make another lame movie another

Well I just had to see what the hell Nicolas Cage was doing with the
movie "Left Behind." He really must have enjoyed making it. It's so
bad that it has one star on Netflix. But it's also so bad that it's
like a comedy, almost like the "Airplane" of the "left behind"
apocalypse movies (of which there are many). Talk about "Christians"
not understanding analogs, they're far worse than any "Hindus." It
really deserves a Mystery Science Theater 3000 treatment.

So if you need a good laugh here's the trailer:

Wow, how much bad acting can you pack into a single trailer?

This "left behind" thing is a real cultural phenomenon over there
isn't it? Bizarre as we never hear of it over here. I wouldn't even be
surprised if this doesn't even go on release here. Not least because
it looks really dreadful...

I just cracked up laughing several times. Yup, the acting is bad and there are
a number actors you see regularly see in other films. And I bet they aren't
there because of their religious beliefs any more than the actors who were in
the "Atlas Shrugged" jokes are libertarians. They're there for the money too

Do you get to see heaven and hell at any point. Does Nic get saved?

How popular is the "left behind" idea in the US really?
