Is you ability to defend Obama so weak that you have to resort to
calling those that don't support him racists?
 that
they are racists and we'll see how that plays in Peoria.

 (snip)
Let me make it clear- America is a racist country.
Bush has made the situation much worse, pitting rich against poor, and
dividing the country and creating fear and more greed.
Peoria is in Illinois, and Obama is sure to win Illinois.
So, the Peoria thing don't work.

It is a fact that Gov. Ed Rendell said, when he was supporting Hillary.
That, A Black man can't win.
So, it is obvious most of the people who find fault with him are
racist.
It's obvious to me, at least.
If that is not where you're coming from then I appoligize.
But my feeling is, if he were white like you, you wouldn't have a
problem with him.
Am I wrong?

Yes, you're wrong because you're a racist. And like all racists, you
see racism where none exists.

R. G., learn to judge a man by the content of his character, not by the
color of his skin.

Let me make it clear- America is a racist country.

I live with people from all over the world. Americans are trying to
change at least. Most countries have no sense that their racism is
wrong. Have a chat with a Korean about black people. Talk with a
light skinned black person about dark skinned black people. Speak
with an African immigrant about American born black people. The list
goes on and on.

I am proud of our country taking a stand, and I am proud that Obama is
a presidential nominee. NOt because he is black, but because we are
now producing so many highly educated African Americans that one could
rise to the top and take his shot to run the whole country.

In DC we have a strong middle and upper class black population. Even
though there is much more in common with economic and educational
equality between races here, there is little socializing between
races. Go to a BUPPIE club and it is all black, in YUPPIE club, all
white, after spending their work day together. We are entering an era
where we many have to realize that equality doesn't mean that we
forget our tribal roots, when recognizing someone from your tribe
quickly was a life or death issue. Birds of a feather really do flock
together and this had far reaching implications beyond simple racism.

Bush has made the situation much worse, pitting rich against poor, and
dividing the country and creating fear and more greed.

So the only thing people notice about Obama is his melinan level of
his skin? Can't people just disagree with his policy or believe that
his mouth is writing checks his ass can't cash? It becomes a no win
situation for black people if anyone feels they can't criticize them
without this accusation. This is where this line of thinking leads:

I think people can learn to see beyond race. It helps if you actually
live with a lot of different kinds of people I think. It helps is the
only people of color in your town don't live in a ghetto which is what
it was like in the town where I grew up. You have live with people
who are similar in economic and educational levels. Then the skin
color thing subsides.

Obama does come off like an super educated elitist to me, but as John
Stewart says, after 8 years of a dumbass, I hope our next president is
not the guy I want to have a barbecue with! But we need to feel
comfortable giving him just as much shit as any other president if he
does get elected to make sure he is keeping us all in mind. That job
seems to do a number on people.

The director of D.C. Mayor Anthony A.
Williams's constituent services office
resigned after being accused of using
a racial slur, the mayor's office said
yesterday.

David Howard, head of the Office of
Public Advocate, said he used the word
niggardly in a Jan. 15 conversation

Being forced to resign for using niggardly is ridiculous because the
word has no etymological connection to the offensive word. Not saying
black hole around blacks because it is negative is also silly,
since black hole is a scientific term with a specific meaning, which
the fellow in the Youtube clip was using accurately. However, there
are issues of language involved. When I had a black student in my
class, I was careful about using expressions like black comedy,
black humor, a black mood a black look, a black day, and
similar. There are genuine issues here, obscured by the fake ones.
