 Does anyone know how you could take a YouTube video and post it in
 a discussion like html posting area so that is just shows up. I am
 trying to see if I can do this for teaching classes. I can get images
 from a website to show up for the viewer but not videos.
 eg: img alt= border=0 src=http://www.mywebsite.com/IMAGE.gif; /

 Any ideas for videos?

 Thanks

With the online editor it can't be done, as iframes and embed are not
supported:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/groups/messages/messages-28.html

I don't know if it would work in an html letter to the group. You would
have to include something like that into the source code:

object width=425 height=350param name=movie
value=http://www.youtube.com/v/AOeTuOoDhm4;/paramparam name=wmode
value=transparent/paramembed
src=http://www.youtube.com/v/AOeTuOoDhm4;
type=application/x-shockwave-flash wmode=transparent width=425
height=350/embed/object

Wait, t3rinity, yours worked perfectly (some Bollywood thing), but
when I cut and pasted the url I wanted to test it with it doesn't work.

Can you see what I am doing wrong?

No, no, the code is on the youtube page itself, I just copied it in.
It's meant to be used for blogs.

If you are using the rich text editor of Yahoo, it simply doesn't
accept those tags object. If you can work it into the Html of your
email, then those people who receive posts by mail may see it,
(somehow it doesn't work with my linux-evolution program).
I don't think it would be shown on the browser interface. In the
source code this looks like this lt; thats why it doesn't work

It is not a group or e-mail thing. What I am saying is that YOUR
html that you gave me worked PERFECTLY in the portfolio posting
software that we are using. It works.

However, when I cut and paste the URL for another YouTube video into
the HTML you gave me it does not work in the same online portfolio
software.

It may be something with the URL I have?, because your YouTube URL
looks different than mine, but I am not sure why.

Can you see what I am doing wrong below?
Thanks.

I found out what is wrong with it:

I had to change the URL that I took from the site, from:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-JbSj9L6YENR

to:

http://www.youtube.com/v/f-JbSj9L6YENR

It works fine now.

Thanks !  ! !
