Yeah, but I'll bet Rick does too--you know, if you're not a rabid

 French-Fried Poodle, anyone?

Poodle is way overrated. That's what the French
serve to Scandinavian vegetarian tourists, while
telling them it's a new vegetarian casserole.

Labrador or German Shepherd served with a good
Bechamel sauce is definitely the way to go.

Can't remember having said they could use a mantra, they can't think,
I apoligize if I left that impression.
My point is that if you give particular animals Puja, and/or whispers
mantras to them twice a day for a long time their consciousness rises
quickly so they are ready for a human body.
The downside of this, for weak and attached humans, is that these
animals will die quickly once they arrive at that level.

I was going to ask you how you measure when the animal has achieved the
spiritual development you were aiming for. Is that the answer? They die?

I think I remember from the checking notes a thing about not
meditating with pets in the room?

That of course seems just common sense: avoid an obvious
source of disturbance. But I've sometimes wondered whether there was
supposed to be something a bit more to this? Perhaps something related
to what you are saying here?

When Maharishi told us that, he emphasized the energy draining more than the
possible disturbance.
