Can't remember having said they could use a mantra, they can't think, I apoligize if I left that impression. My point is that if you give particular animals Puja, and/or whispers mantras to them twice a day for a long time their consciousness rises quickly so they are ready for a human body. The downside of this, for weak and attached humans, is that these animals will die quickly once they arrive at that level. I was going to ask you how you measure when the animal has achieved the spiritual development you were aiming for. Is that the answer? They die?

I think I remember from the checking notes a thing about not meditating with pets in the room? That of course seems just common sense: avoid an obvious source of disturbance. But I've sometimes wondered whether there was supposed to be something a bit more to this? Perhaps something related to what you are saying here? When Maharishi told us that, he emphasized the energy draining more than the possible disturbance.
