Re: [Felvtalk] urinary tract infection or stones in 8 year old cat
Urinary problems can be tricky. Here are a few links that help explain it - http://www.catvets.com/cat-owners/disease-and-conditions/flutdhttp://www.catvets.com/cat-owners/disease-and-conditions/flutd http://icatcare.org/advice/cat-health/feline-idiopathic-cystitis-fic http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?A=612 Until you can get her to your vet, encourage her to drink more water. If you have any Feliway, use it to help reduce any stress. Cats do not process aspirin or other NSAIDs like we (or dogs) do, so let the vet decide what pain killers (if any) you should use. I hope she feels better fast. I just noticed yesterday that she is using flower pots just brought in and not the boxes. She has now gone to using both. I have watched her closely and she is not putting out much urine, maybe a quarter in size. I started Bragg's raw vinegar in both water fountains t increase urine accidity and will call vet first thing in the AM. Anything else I can do for her. The last time we dealt with this was about 8 years ago with my boy Harley. ___ Felvtalk mailing list Felvtalk@felineleukemia.org http://felineleukemia.org/mailman/listinfo/felvtalk_felineleukemia.org ___ Felvtalk mailing list Felvtalk@felineleukemia.org http://felineleukemia.org/mailman/listinfo/felvtalk_felineleukemia.org

Re: [Felvtalk] Lost Hodor
Hi Tina, I doubt any Vet carries it, it has a short "life" and isn't used often. I get mine from; http://www.diamondbackdrugs.com/ They're very helpful, thought the wait time to get someone to the phone can be long. I get a non-standard formula (120 units per/mL) which means the dose is 1/4 mL, because I think it is more efficient, but your Vet will decide. You can call Diamonndback if you have questions, or your Vet can simply place the prescription.HTH,Margo>^..^<-Original Message- From: Tina TerrellSent: Oct 8, 2016 3:13 PM To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org Subject: Re: [Felvtalk] Lost Hodor Hello ! Can anyone tell me if Inteferon is available? My vet doesnt carry it due to expense. Thank you so much! Tina On Oct 8, 2016 2:11 PM, "Amani Oakley" wrote: Liz, I am so very very sorry. My heart aches for you. At least you know how much you did for Hodor, and he knew how adored he was. So few cats get to be so happy and cherished, even for a short time. It was extremely hard. He stopped eating and drinking. The vet had a hard time finding a vein for the catheter because of his anemia. It was so sad. Thank you all for your kind words and support. I wish that the vets could have done more to help him. FeLV sucks.
