Interesting. I had major allergy problems
with Oxiclean. I broke out in the world's worst itchy rash with enough
swelling that my face looked like I had been in a major fist fight--and
lost. This happened twice. And the rash (even with medical attention
--several trips to the all hours clinics) lasted for over a week each
time.

I heard about odo- ban from a friend in greyhound rescue. I have
used it to clean carpets and NOT had a problem with it. I used a small
amount with oxiclean. (Oxiclean is the bomb for cleaning carpet
spots. but the odoban helped with the smell.)It was
onlywhen I tried using it in laundry (which it is approved for on the
label)that I had the problems. So probably itwill be fine.
But better safe than sorry! It is environmentally better than using
bleach as well, so I really wanted to use it on soiled rugs and the sheets and
mattress covers I use on the furniture for when someone decides to use the
furniture (or my bed) rather than journey to the litterbox. The problems
only came when I used it on the sheets for my bed or furniture covers.

I have to agree. Sorry. This is a

to you. Also---use it about quarter strength...not full
strength. Further, you can use it on a small part at one strength and
either repeat or increase the amount. I have never met anyone who had
problems with it. However, I have problems with items no one else has
had. Thanks for pointing this out.

  Wendy,

One caution here.. I've used odo-ban in the past.
First, the odor IS overwhelming to me. 2nd, I have tried it on laundry
when I had a relative over who is allergic to bleach.. well, I
broke out in a rash from using odo-ban in place of bleach.

I get allergic reactions fairly easily, so I'm not 'normal' in that
arena. I get rashes with various medications, etc

But that said, you might want to try a little first and make sure you
like it and no one does have any kind of reaction to it. (My cats
  didn't just me. lol )

Anyway, I don't think I would go buy a bunch and treat a huge area,
full strength, at one time without doing a 'test' area first.. for
  smell, and for allergic reactions.

  Just my opinion.
