Switching from kitten food to cat food
Although I have my kitties I've always had adult kitties and never kittens and some one asked me a question I couldn't answer yesterday. Does anyone know what age kittens should be on average before you start weaning them from kitten food onto general adult cat food? Hi Michelle, My vets have told me a year, however, I keep kitten food in the mix (I rotate foods rather than feeding the same thing all the time) because it's higher in protein. I had always thought between 1 and 2 years of age. But with my boys, they went from kitten food to prescription food at about 5 months because of Smoky's GI issues.
