Well, the list is not exactly particularly active, it seems, but there are messages, I am counting 3 on Thu and 8 yesterday. [Finale] Apple Jam Pack and Finale?
Friends, Sorry if this has been covered before (I looked back a ways in the archives and couldn't find anything). Question: can I access the Apple Orchestral Instruments from its Jam Pack 4 (made to use with their Logic series, etc.) from within Finale? My aging system: G4/466, Mac 10.3.8, Finale 2005b Andrew Levin ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

Thank God. I was sure it was my computer, or connectivity, or the fulfillment of Revelations, or something else. The issuance of this message is my sigh of relief, and , at the same time, my puerile attempt to create traffic. Thanks for bringing this up, 'coz it got me interested. So, I connected between Finale and Digital Performer via CoreMIDI Inter- Aplication MIDI, and I was successfully able to play Finale file to MacFive, a software sampler instantiated within DP. Re: [Finale] Apple Jam Pack and Finale?
Andrew, Since you are well below the system requirements (600 MHz) to play software instruments even just in Garage Band (and even then, 600 MHz is the bare minimum and won't get you much in the way of simultaneous instruments), the answer is almost certainly no -- even if there *is* some technical way of accessing Garage Band instruments for playback from within Finale, your computer is much too slow to take advantage of it. Save your pesos for a new computer, instead. After that, you might think about GPO. - Darcy - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Brooklyn, NY On 23 Apr 2005, at 9:11 AM, Andrew Levin wrote: Friends, Sorry if this has been covered before (I looked back a ways in the archives and couldn't find anything). [Finale] Re: piano four hands layout
From: Ryan Beard Enter the notes in scroll view as a score. Extract the Secondo and Primo as parts. Create EPS files of the parts pages and import them into one document. rather than extracting the parts, i suggest using special part extraction (define start numbering at 500 or something huge, or make sure all empty measures have real rests to avoid multimeasure rests), do final layout for piano I, then make a copy of the doc and undo special part extractions for I and set it for II. if in doing your layout for piano I you take into consideration the music which will be on the opposite page you should then have very little tweaking to do, depending of course on the difference in density and complexity of the two parts. add the same number of blank pages to P-I as pages with music, print to PDF, and rearrange the pages in acrobat (or other pdf creation/manipulation programme); print P-II to pdf and interleave by copy-pasting pages into the master doc. jef -- shirling neueweise \/ new music notation specialists mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] :.../ http://newmusicnotation.com ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

I would like to do this - can whoever said how to do it last time (or someone else who knows now) outline how to do it (again)?
