This is an original Finale Mac 2003 file converted to 2008. In your
experience, did it also happened with files created by version 2008? This never
happens when I use version 2003 (I do it eventually).

[Finale] Note attached articulations

2009-04-17 Thread M LAWLOR
[Finale 2002]
I would like to use the articulation tool to attach numbers to individual
notes. This is fine for single digit numbers, but I cannot create
articulations for 10 and above, other than by creating two articulations and
dragging them into position. At the moment, the best solution I can come up
with is to use the expression tool, but this does not allow me to attach the
articulations to the notes so that, as spacing changes, the articulation moves
with the note. Does anyone have any better solutions to offer?

I've had corruption occur in all kinds of files, including ones

Maybe it's gamma radiation...

Make a circle as a shape with the Articulation Tool and then set up a
meta-tool to place them (one click for each note) or use Mass Edit to select
many notes and attach the articulation to them all at once.

Re: [Finale] Note attached articulations

2009-04-17 Thread Christopher Smith
You don't say which version of Finale you are using, but you have
better options in all versions.

In older versions, assign the expression to a metatool (look up
metatool in the documentation.) say, O.

Hold down O and click each note once. Once you have completed a
measure, you can copy only the expressions to the other measures
using the MassEdit tool (set it to copy only expressions!)

In 2009, you can hold down the metatool key and drag across all the
notes that you want to assign the expression to, saving some time.

Matthew is right. I also use the Lyrics tool for pedal marks. I set
up a library of markings, and entering them with metatools is fast and
easy, and it allows them to line up perfectly on each system. I think
I started doing this back in Finale 2.6, if memory serves.

[Finale] Finale 09, Mac OS 10.4.11

2009-04-17 Thread Bonnie Harris

Hi,
Does anybody out there run Finale 2009 with Mac OS 10.4.11? Know if
it will work OK with only 1G of memory?
I'm stuck with a G4 laptop with a burnt memory slot, Apple fixed a
bunch of them but mine's outside their serial # window for the fix,
even tho I have the same problem. I can upgrade my desktop to run
F2009 but I need file compatibility with the laptop to make it
worthwhile.
I'm not too concerned about using Garriton sounds on the laptop, but
need the program to work and at least do MIDI playback with only 1 G
of memory.

Thanks for any info

Hi Bonnie,

I'm running 10.4 on a G4 iBook with 1 gig RAM (512 meg built in, and
512 as an added chip), and it runs Fin2009 fine, though a little slow

Go for it.
