Re: [Finale] playback of grace notes on the beat

2012-12-07 Thread Michael Lawlor
Go to Document options - grace notes - set grace note duration to zero. It
will happen on the beat with the main note. I do not believe it would be
possible to delay the main note only when preceded by an acciacatura.

Is there a simple way to tell Finale to play all grace notes on the beat
(instead of just before), or is that beyond the capabilities?

Re: [Finale] Large-format duplex laser printer rec?

2012-12-07 Thread Darcy James Argue
While I hesitate to even consider another Ricoh, I have to ask: does anyone
have any experience with the Ricoh Aficio SP 6330N?

It's the only new large-format laser I can afford, and its built-in duplexer
(theoretically) can handle the heavyweight paper I use.

That's more like it. I'm a long-fuse big-lift-charge guy. Used to run
fireworks shows to let loose some of the frustration from wire-wrapping and
testing circuit designs and driver software at the same time.

i want to see that, dennis using finale and having a systematic hissy
fit (or did you mean a systemic hissy fit? ;-))

but seriously, if you do pound the keyboard with your fist, try to
make it as flat as possible and swipe-pound it in one clean stroke
right to left, making sure to depress at least 80% of the keys over
the ephemeral lifespan of your outburst. that should clear whatever
key is stuck, at least in a high percentage of the cases.

Well I did have a hissy fit and pounded all the keyboard keys and nothing
happened.

But next time I'll be a little more systematic. :)

Dennis,

This for me has been a long-standing issue. MacPro 10.6.8. I also have a
MacBook Pro but I do so little editing on that machine I've never come across
the problem.

Someone suggested here that the next time it happens, run your fingers over the
QWERTY keyboard. I have done that now many, many times, adding in the numeric
keypad as well, and every single time it has alleviated the problem; at least
until the next occurrence. In a long Finale session of several hours, I can
encounter the problem 4-5 times and this has worked every time for me. Try it
and see.

I have a similar problem. I have to totally reboot to get rid of it. No matter
what metatool I choose (under a given tool) the same item is placed. This has
happened on two different machines (both WinXPSP3 Fin2011) so it's not likely
related to stuck hardware here.

[Finale] stuck metatool key -- another clue?

2012-12-07 Thread SN jef chippewa

i have been having the problem regularly recently, but for the past
day or so i haven't come across it. i just had it again, immediately
after accessing a menu using the mouse (trackpad). it wasn't a
finale menu, but wonder if it could be related. i didn't actually
call up anything, was just checking the battery level of the trackpad
in the bluetooth menu.

maybe has nothing to do wth it, but am getting desperate... and
hoping i have caught all the extra expressions that have been
assigned because of this problem.

i notice there are two items in the undo menu when it happens as
well, so i have to undo twice to remove the bugger:

1) edit expression metatool
2) expression assign

a long shot, but the "b" key got stuck when i accessed the bluetooth
menu. i am getting lots of b, n, t, 1 and 2 getting stuck. maybe
"t" gets stuck when accessing the tools (or TGTools) menu? ...

well, of course i can't immediately reproduce it, so by support
standards, the problem doesn't exist. but maybe this rings a bell
for anyone who has the problem...?

ah, maybe a tally of who gets it on what systems?
