It will only allow one type of custom barline in the selected staff, but it's better than nothing: First, make a group of the staff and put the custom barline as the barline for that group. Then go to the Measure tool, select the whole piece and choose Edit Measure Attributes. Set Barline to "Normal" and check the option "Override Group Barlines". The custom barlines will have completely disappeared for the moment. To make one appear just select Measure Attributes for the measure before it and un-check "Override Group Barlines". = For each of the groups in the score check "use alternate barline" and set it to Normal. Then make a group for the single instrument that occasionally may need a special barline. "Use alternate barline" should *not* be checked for this. When selecting, say a double barline, the option "Override Groups Barlines" (in the bottom of the Measure Attributes dialogue box) will automatically get selected. Now, if you deselect this option, the double barline will only occur in the staff that *doesn't* "use alternate barline". If you need special barlines for *different* single staves (or groups) in different places in the score, create groups for each of these occurrences. Whenever you need the special barline in one staff, make sure the system is optimized. Then you can delete all the groups that shouldn't get the special barline, without affecting the global group definitions. ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu

create a region with a staff group with barlines through all staves then selectively apply (i.e. to the RH staves of the 2nd-4th instruments for the measures needed) a staff style that has nothing other defined than "break barlines between staves". >I'm finishing a client's score for four pianos and he has asked that 72 of the >780 measures have a barline through all staves (to indicate section >divisions). > >I don't see an easy way to create a kind of mid-page 'left barline'. [Finale] Barlines through all staves
Hi all, I'm finishing a client's score for four pianos and he has asked that 72 of the 780 measures have a barline through all staves (to indicate section divisions). I don't see an easy way to create a kind of mid-page 'left barline'. Maybe there's a plugin? FinWin 2014.5 Thanks!
