Re: [Finale] Follow-up to GPO's sloppy solo string sounds
Ambience Reverb is quite good, it's just that Finale's default settings are all messed up -- they are set to 100% wet, 0% dry. They should default to something closer to 100% dry, 20-30% wet. This setting is saved with the document in Fin2011 (though you do have to set it once in every new file). The default value of this controller is 64. By setting the value very low (Now I'm setting it to zero) by means of an expression attached to the first note of the score, the playback of these notes is MUCH clearer, and I am currently working on a piece with eighth notes at dotted-half=100-120 and they are crisp and clean. Also, the playback is helped by having the AWFUL ambience reverb turned off. Is there anyway to make this the default setting instead of having to fiddle it in EVERY new file? I think it's an Audio Unit so you could remove it from the Plug-in folder. Steve P.
