[Finale] TAN: Sibelius beams

2009-10-31 Thread Johannes Gebauer
This may not be the right place to ask, but perhaps someone who has
access to the Sibelius list can do this inquiry for me: Darcy once wrote
that someone on the Sibelius list had settings for Henle style beams in
Sibelius. I would be really happy to get those.

I am almost certain that certain things which Patterson beams make
possible in Finale will not be possible in Sibelius, but who knows,
perhaps it can...

(Particularly Henle beams are slightly thinner than half a space, and
the beam distance needs to be adjusted for notes with more than three
beams, but I guess I could live with this shortcoming...)

2009-10-31 Thread Bob Morabito

Hi Johannes--

The thread is at :

http://www.opensubscriber.com/message/finale@shsu.edu/8699129.html

It appears someone named Trent Johnson had some good settings,
according to the post from Darcy, but the archive doesnt have the
attachment.

Ive forwarded to your private email an old email I have here which is
part of that thread, with a screen shot of settings from another
user, which may be what Trent was referrring to.

Hopefully it'll help.

Thanks

Bob Morabito

I do actually have the attachments, in case anyone wants it. Thanks for
pointing me there.

It helps a little, but it is certainly not comparable to Patterson Beams.

I guess there is no way to have thinner beams without getting wedges
everywhere?

Ok, I tried it. It works ok for anything up to 16th, but with more than
two beams it fails completely.

I guess that may well mean I won't go any further with my investigation.
Shame, as Sibelius is really much better in some respects.
