Until fairly recently it was, to all intents and purposes, impossible to send AOL e-mails in plain text - I believe it was actually possible if you had a degree in computer programming and a few hours to spend on every e-mail. (I once saw a set of instructions which ran to two pages of typed A4.) They have at last upgraded the system and now it's just a matter of selecting the off screen compose as plain text button from a drop down menu, but as far as I know it still isn't possible to make it the default. It's now a question of remembering to do it. Well, at least I can report success: your message came through as very beautiful and standard plain text. So if anyone knows how to make this option sticky for AOL users, a lot of listers would be very happy! There are two things can be done to improve the situation. - This list should disable HTML option at MailMan2 admin interface (admin, please?). - AOL user should use POP mail client and avoid using AOL mail interface. On Mac side, using AppleMail works much better with AOL for archiving and address management, even more so when used with .Mac sync service. -- - Hiro Hiroaki Honshuku, A-NO-NE Music, Boston, MA http://a-no-ne.com http://anonemusic.com ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
