/sw/bin/perl[560|561|580] in the apropriate places, and we would know

any how this will need to be fixed before I add apache2 to unstable,
well i suppose apache2 coul dbe added but not mod_perl which it likely

One thing to keep in mind here is that the new versioned perl packages
may need to *build* the package using a different version of perl than
the one that the user is currently running. Each -pm560 package has
to be built with perl 5.6.0, each -pm580 package has to be built with
perl 5.8.0, and so on. So we have to construct a system which does
this.
That's what I've attempted to do.
Why not use perl5.6 and perl5.8 symlinks managed by
update-alternatives, to make appear less dependant on a specific
version...

I just did fink fetch xerces-j without problems _ but realize I have
DownloadMethod: axel
However the warning "No MD5 .." appears BEFORE the download.

I re-did with curl _ w/o problems either (except that it started by
trying the old custom mirror)..

2003-05-27 Thread Alexander Hansen
I tried putting the .info file Thomas sent out into my local tree.

I had no problems with fetching, either usinging wget or curl. [10.2.6,

[Fink-devel] bug interaction fink/curl (resource eating)

2003-05-27 Thread Thomas Kotzian
hello!

i wanted to package xerces-j 2.4.0 - i took the original version and
updated only the version specific things.

xerces-j-2.4.0-1.info
Description: Binary data

when i did fink fetch xerces-j the file finishes downloading then the
system turns unresponsive because all my system's memory get eaten up.
i can't say if curl causes the trouble or fink - curl seems to be
already finished but who knows.

update: fink has the problem - i can say that because after downloading
the message:

curl -f -L -O
http://xml.apache.org/dist/xerces-j/Xerces-J-src.2.4.0.tar.gz
% Total% Received % Xferd Average Speed Time
 Curr.
 Dload Upload TotalCurrent Left
 Speed
100 1401k 100 1401k0 0 3676 0 0:06:30 0:06:30
0:00:00 3497
WARNING: No MD5 specified for Source #2 of package xerces-j-2.4.0-1
Maintainer: Sylvain Cuaz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

appears -> then the resource eating festival starts ...

could someone please try to fetch this package and see if it happens
too? (i'm running unstable, 10.2.6, dec dev tools)

i don't know fink good enough to debug it ...

thanks, thomas
