Strange, but it works in IE (v6) only once. Mean Stage.width and Stage.height are defined properly on initial load of the page. But if you reload it, they become zeros! Why? In Firefox, Mozilla, Opera it works OK. Can anyone help? -- Best regards, GregoryN http://GOusable.com Flash components development. Re: [Flashcoders] Outsourcing
I think that this will be a big help in gaining credibility regarding your abilities. People are looking for someone who can complete mandates in a professional way. It is hard enough to work in an outsourcing relationship without having to worry that the work will be left in an unfinished state. The quality of the English may also be important for those who need someone to be able to check text. It also is a bit of a clue as to how hard it will be to work with someone over a distance where written instructions and written progress reports will be the norm. Re: [Flashcoders] Stage.width not working in IE
IE has issues seeing the Stage.height and Stage.width on the first frame of the movie. Delay the checking until the 2nd or 3rd frame, and see if it makes a difference. Re: [Flashcoders] video weirdness
well i'd like to share the link with the list but I affraid that my bandwidth is going to go over the roof... What I described above is what happens, as in: the video starts streaming but as soon as I get the mouse out of the thumbnail image the video stops streaming without broadcasting any event like flush or stop... this is very weird... Re: [Flashcoders] XML load hang...
I tried it at 6fps and it worked, but it's also working at 12fps right now. (As I said, it's intermittent.) It was at 12fps, which seems none too high... Why would this cause a completion handler to get blocked? (There's no animation going on at this point, nothing dynamic about the frame it's on at all, and anyway, Flash can't be pre-empting handlers based on frame workload, can it?!) I'll look out for it hanging again, and re-try the 6fps thing then... Thanks, --Dave High framerate. What is your framerate?
