Especially in Europe would be really great (and I personally would
suggest Graz, but that's just me ;-))

Until Apollo is real and proves to have the features you are
requesting
(c++ extensibility??), the profile of your project says
"Director" all
over it. At least if you are trying to keep within the Adobe
product
line for software development. A Director shell, that is, which
uses an
embedded web browser (WebXTRA or one of the others for
cross-plat work),
adhoc peer/peer connections (MUS XTRA in client/server modes)
and access
to the file system for various things (FileIO XTRA, FileXTRA4 -
read/write/query for the file system, BuddyAPI XTRA for tight
integration with OS). C++ Extensibility through XTRA
architecture for
cross-plat work or ActiveX on Windows. Don't know about the
screen
reader though.
It will be interesting indeed if Apollo steps into the game at
that
level... Anyway, something to think about, good luck!

2006-12-14 Thread Essl, Markus
Hello!

I wanted to ask if there is a place for a wish list for Apollo. It is
christmas anyway!

First of all, our company creates Computer Based Training Modules -
which are available online (for use in an LMS) but are also available
offline on CD. These CBTs are made with Authorware, Flash or DHTML, or a
combination thereof.

Currently we need an own browser (based on Mozillla) to make these
things launchable from CD (we need access to the file system because of
tracking user scores between sessions and to integrate into the desktop,
etc.; also classroom teaching (ad-hoc peer-to-peer without the need to
setup) is a thing we will address sooner or later).

When I heard about Apollo I was excited (and I still am). It would mean
that we can offer part of our CBTs for download (because the current
system takes more than 20mb just for framework, plus 300kb actual
content).

The number #1 wish for me is this: create flash applications that run
from CD (like a Flash Projector) WITHOUT the need to install anything
(like Flash Projector, but with more rights and more access to the
system).

It may sound stupid for the rest of us, but customers demand that they
do not want to install anything - they want to insert the CD, and it
should run, without EULAs, installing and without accessing the internet
or whatever, just run.

The number #2 wish for me is: be able to extend it with C++ code - even
if it means to loose platform compatibility.

And Number #3: That it is accessible to screen readers (i have had hard
times with the flash projector - i just could not get the screen reader
to recognize the settings).

I am sorry that this might be the wrong group for that. If there is any
chance that there is an official wish list please tell me.

AW: [flexcoders] Tree drag & drop

2006-12-07 Thread Essl, Markus

I have had the same problem, but didn't find a solution. Moreover, I
tried to look at existing UIs (windows, java, .net and such frameworks
and programs), but I could not find an implementation of a tree that
support that. Do you know of such a program where I can look at that
behaviour?

My solution will be that depending on the mouse position (x value >
center of tree) to add the dropped item as a child of that item,
otherwise as a sibling.

Of course, the handling of the drop must be done manually.

I've done work so far so that I can copy items; which was quite horrible
for me, as I didn't find out how to easily update the model after the
drop. Somehow I made it work. Now I want to make this reusable some how,
but didn't figure out how exactly I should approach this.

Betreff: [flexcoders] Tree drag & drop

with dragEnabled, dropEnabled, dragMoveEnabled all set to true I
am
able to drag an Item from one place in a tree to another. The
only
problem is that I dont seem to be able to promote or demote an
item.
meaning I can drag an item to a sibling position of another
item, but
not to a child of another item. Is this just a limitation of the
tree
control code or am I missing something.

AW: [flexcoders] About File Uploading !!

2006-12-05 Thread Essl, Markus
The Problem is in your PHP code. Simple guess without looking at it
thoroughly: you should be using fileField instead of Filedata;

$MAXIMUM_FILE_COUNT);
for ($i = 0; $i < count($files_to_delete); $i++) {
unlink($files_to_delete[$i][0]);
}
}
print_r($files);
closedir($directory);

function sorter($a, $b) {
if ($a[1] == $b[1]) {
return 0;
} else {
return ($a[1] < $b[1]) ? -1 : 1;
}
}

AW: [flexcoders] Re: waiting for the debugger

2006-11-30 Thread Essl, Markus
Hi!

Sometimes I have this problem too.. When I pressed "STOP Debug" while
debugging then the next debugging session failed (can not connect to
debugger, timeout).

What happend was that Firefox 2.0 was closed and then the next time I
clicked on run, Firefox was started. But, because of this session
restore feature, a dialog box appeared. But for some reason or another,
it did not pop up, but did pop under.. and since I have a lot of windows
open, I didn't realise at first that this was the problem. Once you see
this big, fat dialog box of firefox it is obvious though.

[flexcoders] E4x and the xml defaul namespace "xml"

2006-11-28 Thread Essl, Markus
Hello!

I need to set an xml:lang attribute in XML file, and I have trouble
doing so. If I just use the xml-prefix it won't work, so I need to add a
namespace declaration. But then that namespace declaration is visible in
the xml output, like this:

The xml validator then tells me that the file is invalid, because i must
not declare the default xml namespace.

Right now I just remove the xml namespace by converting the xml to a
string and then just replace xmlns:xml.

Is there a more elegant way to do it or am i missing something?

thanks,
Markus
