When I say I am not seeing any trace statements output in the console window I am referring to the console window in Flex Builder 2, and I AM running my application in debug mode.. I just can't figure out why it won't output any trace statements.. This usually happens when the debug build did not complete successfully. Make sure there are no errors in Problems tab before you run in debug mode. [flexcoders] Re: Unable to get trace to work...
Thanks Deepa, I have tried following the instructions on setting up my trace debug output; however, I cannot find the file mm.cfg anywhere on my system. From what I have seen in examples, I should simply be able to open the console window and see the trace outputs there when I debug the application; however when I run debug no traces are output to the console. Has anyone run into this issue, or successfully located the mm.cfg file on a window xp system? RE: [flexcoders] Re: Unable to get trace to work...
Hi Kyle Check out the first line in step #2 in the technote: Make sure you have copied the mm.cfg file from your flex_install_dir/bin directory to the client machine's home directory. Alternatively, you can create a file, name it mm.cfg, drop it in your home directory and add the settings specified later in the technote. -deepa From: flexcoders@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kyle Sent: Thursday, August 31, 2006 11:34 AM To: flexcoders@yahoogroups.com Subject: [flexcoders] Re: Unable to get trace to work... Hi Deepa, I went step by step through the entire process again, as well as trying a few other methods and am still unable to get any tracing to work in flex 2. Has anyone been able to get trace statements to output to the console window? If so, do you have any pointers? RE: [flexcoders] Re: Unable to get trace to work...
Sure, my setup worked from the beginning. But I already was using tracing in 1.5, so my mm.cfg was already set up. RE: [flexcoders] Re: Unable to get trace to work...
Make sure you run the SWF in DEBUG in Flex Builder. I press the run button all the time and expect trace statements to work. Tracing only works when you run in debug mode.
