Re: [Flightgear-devel] Scripted installation

2013-08-28 Thread Pat
I've just updated the script to version 1.9.12 with various changes.

http://www.gitorious.org/fg/fg-download-and-compile-fgmeta/raw/8b99f5eb7be14708c156424af661cb88c68ecb30:download_and_compile.sh

see
http://www.gitorious.org/fg/fg-download-and-compile-fgmeta/commit/8b99f5eb7be14708c156424af661cb88c68ecb30

for details.

I've requested that this version be merged to the main fgmeta
repository on master and next.

The main point of the update is that this version builds 2.10.0 as
stable (-s option) , 2.12.0 and master using the new -B option and
next, as usual with no option

WOW - that is fantastic! Thank you, James.
That will really reduce personal workload for releases to almost zero.

Can't you use rsync instead of scp? It can upload to a temporary
directory and move the files when they are successfully transfered, and
uses temporary files anyway. I believe it also deletes the temporaries
if the transfer is interrupted.

2013-08-28 Thread Olivier
Hi Ante,

I also answered you quite shortly after your first mail. Definitely you could
get more support on the dedicated FG forum, this mailing list is more for
development stuff.

Content reposted below.

Cheers,

Hello Ante,

I would recommend you to go on the dedicated forum for support (
http://www.flightgear.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=17 ). The devel list is not
meant to deal with support issues, but with FlightGear core
development.

You also need to be more precise about the version of FG you downloaded,
the plane you are trying to use, if the base package planes work OK, and if
there are error messages in the console windows, etc.

Dear FlightGear Team,

I have recently downloaded FlightGear, and am enjoying it, but I seem not be
able to download some aircraft. Even when the program says I have
downloaded the aircraft correctly, when I go to use the aircraft, it
comes up with a small blue and yellow plane. Also, with the plane which
do successfully download, I am not able to get it in the livery which I
want, even when it says that I can get it on your website.

I use a MacBook Air laptop, and it would be greatly appreciated if you were
able to provide some help.

Thanks,

Dear FlightGear Team,

I have recently installed FlightGear v2.10.0 on a MacBook Air laptop, and am
enjoying it.

Before I go on, I must make a complaint that this is the fifth time I have sent
this exact e-mail. The first, third and fourth time I sent it, no one got back
to me, and I hadn't got an e-mail saying my message was rejected. (I do know
that I am sending this e-mail to a members-only e-mail and that I am not a
member.

The second time I sent it, Someone called William replied saying that he had to
reject the e-mail because there is a 40KB limit, and that I should take the
pictures which I used out, which I did. I replied the same e-mail to  William
without the pictures, and he never got back to me.

I am having some trouble with installing extra aircraft. All of the aircraft I
got with the FlightGear software work, but some of the aircraft which I tried
to download don't work, even when I add them to the software, a box comes up
saying it has been successfully installed.

The troubles which I am having include: The plane is there but it won't start
(717, 737NG, 757, A340, Citation X, DC-3, DC-8-73, Lockheed 1049h); A small
blue and yellow replaces the plane that should be there (747-400, A320, 767,
787, Beechcraft b1900d, ATR 72-500); a box comes up saying that FlightGear
unexpectdedly quit when I try to fly with the plane (Paper Airplane, Wright
Flyer); and random planes parts fly near the plane when I put the landing gear
up or down (A300).

Also, I'm pretty sure that I am able to download the A330 on FlightGear, but I
can't seem to find it on your website. It would be a great help if you could
tell me where I can get it.

Thanks,

Ante

Quick answer is there's a way to make Jenkins do anything, longer
answer is I don't know of an easy way that's trivial (or I would have
done it already) Ideally Jenkins would upload to a non-public
('incoming') dir and trigger some operation on the server to link /
copy the files when the upload succeeds, I just didn't come up with an
easy way to make that happen yet.

I run the server, and it can run arbitrary PHP / Perl / cron scripts,
it's just a question of what is low complexity to set up. The SCP
uploader plugin for Jenkins is quite simple so I can't do much with
that - I can run another build action *after* it, the question is what
it should do.

[Flightgear-devel] Release candidates

2013-08-28 Thread James Turner
Hello,

After fixing a dumb mistake of mine, we now have automatically generated
installers / files for Linux, Mac and Windows.

Get them from here: (updated automatically)

http://fgfs.goneabitbursar.com/releases/

(The 2.12 versions, obviously)

I've done a quick test and things look good on both Mac and Windows - at least,
I can start the C172P and the About box info looks good.

The server above can handle plenty of people downloading (unlike Jenkins
itself), the only catch is if you grab a download while Jenkins is uploading
new versions, you'll get a corrupt file.

File bugs in the tracker or report them here.

Regards,
James

That was the master branch. For other branches, it's easiest to go to
www.gitorious.org/fg/fgmeta/source/download_and_compile.sh and select your
preferred branch from the dropdown on the right. It's next to the "Raw blob"
link that you can use to download the file.

Re: [Flightgear-devel] FlightGear voice communication

Hi Llyod,

1TB per month is sufficient to handle 50 simultaneous calls continuously. Of
course, FGCom is not as popular but I don't know how will be popular FGCom once
our user will be able to use the integrated FGCom so I prefer to plan this high
bandwidth instead of planning only 25 calls during 12h per day.

A FGCom server is simply an Asterisk server with a dedicated dialplan. If your
server is running with debian-based distro you can take a look at a script I've
wrote to install and configure an FGCom server :

Let me know if you can setup this FGCom server.

Hi Ante,

I responded to your first email on the 14th August.

Perhaps you didn't receive it? It was sent to the flightgear-devel
mailing list.

I've included it below for your reference.

Hi Ante,
How are you running the simulator? From the command line or from a launcher?

if you are running from the command-line, can you post your command-line here?

Unfortunately I don't run a Mac myself, so I may not be able to
provide very specific
help on this. You might want to post to the FlightGear forums
(http://www.flightgear.org/forums/) where there may be more people who can help.

[Flightgear-devel] Some Help: Please!

2013-08-28 Thread Ante Cugura
Thanks,
Ante
