It's > now comment out. Does still not compile on Unix. One gets a src/FDM/YASim/Model.cpp:24:23: error: windows.h: No such file or directory and has to enable the #ifdef HAVE_WINDOWS_H around that #include. (Will we ever get rid of this HAVE_WINDOWS and HAVE_CONFIG nonsense? No, probably not ...) Compiled, took a ride ... what can I say?! It's quite different now ... The best thing I can say is that it sinks quite fast. But apart from that: it's *extremely* pitch instable, even at higher speeds, which doesn't feel right. I didn't feel the least ground or autorotation effect. All in all ... if I felt my pilots had that much of a fight against the machine as I had, I wouldn't ever fly with them. Or does one just need very good controls now? Maybe I'll have to write an extra joystick config for fgfs helicopters, with a huuuge value ... :-} m. - Take Surveys. Earn Cash. But I am really helpless with this stuff. I know that you don't use CYGWIN. But is there anyone out who can give me advice where to put this include command? And when I searched my whole CYGWIN folder for "winmm.lib" it was NOT found! Should this stuff be anywhere in the CYGWIN folders? And what is really strange - until some weeks ago (my last compilation under CYGWIN) all worked well! Once again, I really would be very thankful due to the fakt that I want to test Maik's new helicopter FDM changes - and that is not possible without a working new compilation! * Melchior FRANZ -- Wednesday 19 July 2006 12:05: > I didn't feel the least ground or autorotation effect. Heh, or maybe I'm not sensible enough. Yes, I observed some ground effect now. A bit too few IMHO, but that's only judged by my experience with other PC flight sims, so this isn't reliable input. And with some flight hours (well, minutes :-) I'm now a bit more comfortable with the "new" bo105 again. But the pitching remains annoying. Just a *tiny* bit stick movement forward, and I pitch down much too much, have to counter and pitch up too much ... swinging up and down. My poor passengers. Well, and poor me. ;-) m. - Take Surveys. [Flightgear-devel] Flightgear's best kept secret?
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't get any hits (except from a few messages on fg-user's list) on a site search on the FG homepage for "kelpie", "fgfp" nor "fgflightplaner", here's the link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fgflightplanner/ This is IMHO a pretty impressive app for IFR flight planning (aimed for Flightgear) which certainly deserves to be mentioned on the FG link page -- ? - Take Surveys. Re: [Flightgear-devel] Question on the weather: How are the 3D clouds are generated?
Vassilii meant that it is the program that generate the 3D clouds, and there is no data elsewhere, just random numbers generated by an algorithm. He pointed you to C++ source files. And yes, SimGear is integrated in the Windows version too. -Fred Quoting Heiko Schulz : > Hi, > > Thanks! [Flightgear-devel] loading XML dialogs from Nasal (e.g. for aircraft specific config dialogs)
As you all probably know (or should know :-), some aircraft have config dialogs (most of them are bound to the Tab-key: bo105, c150, Lightning, OV-10). Until recently, those had to be purely Nasal-generated dialogs. Nothing wrong with that, and very powerful, too. But in many cases, a simple XML dialog would be enough, and much easier to write. Since a few days it's possible to load XML dialogs for that from Nasal context. Example: var dlg = props.globals.getNode("/sim/gui/dialogs/s64e/config/dialog", 1); gui.loadXMLDialog(dlg, "Aircraft/s64e/config-dialog.xml"); fgcommand("dialog-show", dlg); That is: decide for a node to load the XML file to (it currently *needs* to be called "dialog", due to a dialog.cxx limitation, but that's not a problem). Then load the dialog, and show/close it whenever you feel like it. m. PS: thanks to Andy, this also works with dialogs now that have embedded or code blocks. - Take Surveys. Earn Cash. [Flightgear-devel] terrain surface types...
Hi all , is it possible to detect the type of surface one lands on, by surface type / land cover/ or texture ? In the process of trying to design a wake / spray for the Beaver I would like to only show a spray if landing on water ... it would look a bit silly on land , and although it IS a seaplane , some (pilots) apparently take off from runways ;) . And I am adding retractable gear , but came across some interesting info while trying to find out proper operation of the gear. The gear apparently has very little shock absorption , very difficult to control/steer in a crosswind, brakes tend to fail easily and very hazardous if accidentally left extended during a water landing . now if I can just accurately model all that !
