Re: FLUXLIST: hello from david baptiste chirot
Thanks for pasing this on, Nancy. Would you please forward on the following to Dave? Thanks much. Reed Dave, Glad to hear that you're OK, busy, creative etc. I had a very successful showing of my copy work in a group show at a nice venue in Rockport Maine (Center for Maine Contemporary Art) during April. I also have a project running which is a visual poetry postcard collaboration, which I'd like you to take part in if possible. So far, John Bennett, Jim Leftwich, Andrew Topel, Jon Cone and Nico Vassilakis have participated I will send you some examplesof it and then you can decide how and when you 'd like to join in. FARRAGO #3 in the works also. Will be in the post with you soonish. Best, Reed
FLUXLIST: Address books abound
Minna, I got my address book in the mail today. The only reason for the delay, however, is that my address changed. Not that I expect much mail-art from Fluxlisters in the next three months, but I thought I'd give my temporary address, then my new permanent(ish) address once I find one. So here it is: Tom Holmes PO Box 88 Hillsboro, NH 03244 This goes for fellow Fluxlister Dan Holmes ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) as well. My address book cover is lovely, by the way. Who was responsible for the bark-like cover? It's great, but I'm worried if I open it too wide, it'll break. ~tChat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: Click Here
FLUXLIST: Titles/no Titles
From Audrey Flack's _Art and Soul_: The title affects the work. If a painting is titled during the early configuration of it, the sense and meaning of the title become part of the painting. Some titles just appear; they seem to be woven into the structure of the composition. Others are elusive and only emerge through struggle, battle, or debate. Some works never get a name; others get two. BTW to Tom Holmes: If the bark-like covers of your book have text collaged on the inside, and an F on the front and B on the back they're mine; it's actually cardboard from the Big Dig in Boston -- come from a 4'X8' original piece. *I've* got a name!
