FLUXLIST: crispin!!!! all you others THANK YOU

2004-08-08 Thread N BURR
A GALLERY of drawings and objects made last year that
ive never really shown anyone.
crispin
oh man, keep showing us! what i'd like most: a daily dose --- like
morning delivery of newspaper --- of these objects with that crispin touch

or i will take each page of that newspaper and paint it over waxen white?
makes WAY more sense. and makes me realize howcertain ones just
have a way of transforming to alert us to the daily wonder:

A1 metals -- yr savoring of oddest metal objects
db chirot -- just about anything goes magic!!
ANY bowman letter
was it bukoff's stick garden ?--- and the terrific candy band work!!!
too many others of you to say --- oh, please keep saying!!!
--- cuz truly --- some of us are quiet--- but we NEED you, and in
oddest ways we spread the word the energy the joy --

appreciation to you all --- please know it keeps on moving, making most
wonderful mess!!or messy meaningful motionor what do i mean , i
only know I MEAN IT!!! (thanks)

FLUXLIST: Fluxus Ideas THANK YOU ALL

2004-05-24 Thread N BURR
yeah I did- you're right I am an idiot-oh well iguess that explains why I,m
on teh FLuxlist

lovelywon my heart with that one, you did! (and m.l. -- allowance for
'teh' is a GEM in my life!!)

AND so many thanks to all who've responded at length and with heart /
thoughtfulness on all sides of the mighty dilemma of fluxlist and
how we're each trying to GET AT ideas and art and our own
efforts/wants/needsways of trying to SEE/and ACT differently

i'm (obviously) in the 'let it be' realm of the list i like the daily
DAYNESS alertness-to-nowness that has evolved here(feel wanting to
mention princess petal here and don't really know how, but she mattered so
much to lots of us)

and honor the history of history ( as my 12 yr old/then son said,
looking at my high school year book: i really like HISTORY)

i guess i just want it ALL in the varying forms of this realm of balking
at art world rules, yet knowing there are links (in no way predictable!)
that we would have aplenty if we could have more irreverence of (art as)
commodity and/or making a living (big issue, that) and could let go to
PLAY some joy of art in the very making of artin getting lost ??
as if in conversation?

which leads me back to such appreciation of ones on list speaking of
fluxus/art/all-these-attempts as a conversation sometimes: yeah!
spark! here-we-go sometimes .. (notes like this!).

i want ALL the thoughtsof many and of every and am grateful to the
elasticity of this list because i do think it is an allowancethat is
not found in too many other places

and i'd have to say that's how i define fluxus who/how/what
mood/under what influence are YOU in just this moment? can it be
formed into something of value to any others? share a way of paying
attention (this is my life: i pay attention) to THIS? (or that
scrap of paper under your foot, how whatever you were drinking just spilled
in such a fascinating way onto the slip of paper with essential information
written in b-l-u-rr-i-n-g ink at side of keyboard)

oh just hello and thanks.

theme of CONTAINERS would be great! with all the definitions/suggestions of"contain" "containment" . conceptual art of "no enclosure" etc nbb - Original Message - From: allen bukoff Sent: Friday, January 03, 2003 11:38 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: FLUXLIST: More ideas about the box I'm enjoying this box discussion so much I'm thinking it might be interesting to make "containers" the theme of this project. Lots of little individual-contributed containers, packed nicely together, holding only themselves. Well...okay...I'll just go back to lurking.John:As a librarian are you opposed to degradable in any form, for instance a print printed with toner which is not fused, that slowly rubs off the more that you handle it? Or mycelium which might fruit given the proper humidity. Two examples off the top of my head. I see the reason not to have the "container" degrade for archival reasons, but in true Fluxus spirit (whatever that is) not static art seems core. One of my pieces that is in a number of collection is "To Be Filled" which is a book which is hollowed out on the inside. When you open the cover, there are instructions to put something inside. When the cavity inside the book is filled completely the book is to be nailed shut. This is an interesting question to me because Ive been working in the computer medium for the last five years, making dynamic art is inherent in the medium to a large degree.mIEKAL(who still has not added water to a piece of handmade paper with seeds inside which Alison gave me many years ago)

toeveryone mentioning, remembering patricia today thank you so much. the memories, first/last notes, pictures and pages --- i'm finding them essential to finding any "meaning" at all in these days something to do with GOING AT life, one way or the other? the dignity inthat --- in someone like patricia/ princess petal i was not recalling the exact day, but the mood of first hearing about her death it wasvery good to see the first note on remembering hertoday and all the follow-ups how we honor her and something that goes on, for sure within us (and within all the silliness/play/struggle so i look at the glimmer of her dance upon the sky, look at sky outside mywindow, suddenly in the dark of pre-solstice i CAN see that light, it moves and tiniest gem/glow hey, i'll take that as "hello" from patricia! and hello to/from you all, whatever struggle/joy the season finds you dealing with and man i sure DO hope she somehowKNOWS howmuch we miss and need her now!!! towards thatlevel of communication, greetings all --- nancy
