Re: Easier logging suppression for Driver?

2002-04-21 Thread Jeremias Maerki

Not necessary. Avalon actually has a NullLogger. The current release
(4.1.2) of Avalon Framework doesn't contain the NullLogger, yet. In the
FOP-CVS you can already find a version of Avalon Framework with
NullLogger. I suggest you download FOP from CVS or wait for the next
release.

That would be very usefull, and I am sure there are many others who would
 like it as well.
Also in my humble opinion the logger used in FOP should be a configurable
 using the log4j package.

Subject: Easier logging suppression for Driver?

 Hey guys,

One thing I'm seeing coming up a lot on the small-use apps I'm writing is
that I don't need FOP to log its activity in apps moved to production. For
some reason, though, Avalon 4 doesn't seem to have an
 org.apache.avalon.framework.logger.NullLogger available to make logging
suppression easy, and the other strategies I see for logging suppression
don't look as simple as passing a NullLogger into the Driver. I'd like to
suggest a convenience method to make FOP suppress logging. If anyone else
thinks this would be useful, I'll happily take the work on myself.

[ANNOUNCE] html2fo 0.4.2 released

2002-04-21 Thread Enrico Schnepel

Hello all,

I've released the new version 0.4.2 of html2fo this week. It is more stable
and the resulting PDF looks more like the original HTML file.

The main site at SourceForge is:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/html2fo/

The source code as well as binarys for several platforms could be downloaded
from:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=27031

Enjoy

Enrico

Re: inital background-image patch

I will definitely check it out.

Thanks Arved. I've put v0.02 of the patch up. This fixes one small bug
when tiling background images, but more importantly I've removed the
changes to fix addRectFoo() wanting a negative height. This simpilifies
the patch and greatly reduces the scope of the changes. Let me know what
you think.

I'm going to start on getting the other renderers working next.
