I tried XSLFast, it crashed the WHOLE machine (Windows XP) within about 2 minutes of using it. After the reboot and the 2nd crash I gave up on it. If anyone has had more luck with it I'd be interested in how good it is. Another commercial tool that might be quite nice (saw them at XML Europe): Scriptura http://www.inventivedesigners.com Arnold. RE: Free Visual tool for making fo files
There is a free word processor AbiWord (www.abisource.com) which appears to have a 'save as XSL-FO' plugin. I tried it but the output was a bit broken - missing close tags, etc. (Another) Richard -Original Message- From: Richard Sweeney [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 24 May 2004 17:02 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Free Visual tool for making fo files I tried XSLFast, it crashed the WHOLE machine (Windows XP) within about 2 minutes of using it. Re: Free Visual tool for making fo files
It's okay for making initial designs, but you can't reverse engineer with it (reading hand-made FO templates), and because of that, IMHO, it has no real power. Hi all Does anybody know any good tool for convertingHTML (or rtf, or doc) to FO. I have tried html2fo, which I had found on sourceforge.net, but it doesn't understand styles and some tags. Maybe anybody know a better tool? Aleksei Vassiljev
