That seems to work, actually. You might also consider falling back to
Gnome. I did, and I happier than ever.

I also have the over-heating problem. It crashed two times already. I've
started using Unity 2D and it works fine.

For those who still having the heat up problem, It is mostly seen in hybrid
graphics system as the power regression bug is still on for intel
processors (GPU) and ubuntu as default is using the on board GPU. To solve
this you have two options

   - one is to manually compile AMD's catalyst center to be able to switch
