Fair enough, Steve. Although in all seriousness, I wonder is it worth trying some other print-houses? Re: FrameMaker 9: Table Alighment
I think what you need to do is have the text in the frame aligned with the bottom of the frame instead of the top as it usually is. I'm not sure how to do that, but I'm sure there is a way. RE: FrameMaker 9: Table Alighment
Hi Brenda, Not automatically. A good way to do it by hand is to put an anchored frame above the table. After you show/hide your conditions, then you can stretch or shrink the anchored frame to line up the table at the bottom. If you have FrameScript, I can provide a script that would do the adjustment automatically. If you are interested in this, please contact me offlist. Thanks. Re: FrameMaker 9: Table Alighment
Apparently it's not as easy as I thought. According to the link below, there is no such thing as vertical alignment for text within a text frame, only within a table cell. http://lists.frameusers.com/pipermail/framers/2007-December/010290.html What you could do is add an extra paragraph mark before the table with space below the paragraph mark, and conventionalize the paragraph mark to only appear when the able row is hidden. RE: FrameMaker 9: Table Alighment
Hi Brenda, Instead of a table with many rows, you could also use a table with just a single cell. Move all your text inside this table. The paragraph format should have Cell Vertical Alignment set to Bottom. Then set a tab stop so that you can left align your values. Or do not use any tabs, e.g.: Prepared By: X Prepared For: X Task No.: X Then your text will be aligned to the bottom. CMY data in PDF for JPEGs [do have workaround, but just)
For what it's worth, after years of trying to figure out the latest version of distiller options - always under deadline pressure! - for the last 6 years or so I've just uploaded a huge ps file to the printers ftp or more recently dropbox acct, and let them sort it out. I send them a pdf as well, to show how it's meant to turn out, and a paper dummy as well for ad placement etc. I'm signing off the list at the end of this week, I'm leaving the job and the company is shutting down the book I've done for the last 19 years, the last 18 of it in Framemaker, and I can't take the FM licence with me (tried but no was the answer). I might sign back in on my personal email after we get back from the Austrian ski trip in February. Thank you all for all the help I've had from reading this list, I've learnt lots from you all, plus it's been great to be part of the FM community, which is a bit thin on the ground down here in New Zealand. Did find some Kiwi users through the list too. Regards Cathy Giddens |? Editor FNZIQS, Registered Quantity Surveyor?
