RE: Identifying overrides
I've been struggling with just this problem. I solved it by 1. Inserting a disconnected page (Special Add Disconnected Pages) that uses the same Master Page as the misbehaving body page, 2. Copying the text from the bad body page into the new body page, and 3. Deleting the old body page. You may then need to connect the body page flow of the new body page to the other body pages. I think the way to do that is to select Autoconnect in the object properties of the frame of the new body page. RE: Cover page heading shows up as last PDF bookmark- SOLVED
The solution: 1. Ensure the document title body page frame and the body page frame of the rest of the document are in the same flow (they already were) 2. Connect the frames in the right order (as explained in the FrameMaker 6.0 online help topic Connecting text frames. Thanks to Shlomo Perets for pointing me in the right direction. Text-related search question
How do I search for paragraphs that do not end with a period? I've played around with wildcards in the Find/change box, with no success. Table formatting
I'd like to create a table format for a note, with one row and two columns. I want a line above and below the second column. I've only managed to do this using custom ruling and shading, which I don't want to use because custom ruling can't be stored as part of the table format. Any ideas? [FrameMaker version 6.0p405] Eli.
Why have List AND Step paragraph tags?
Our FrameMaker templates have two sets of numbered lists, one set for steps (step1, step2, step3) and another for lists (and list1, list2, list3). Visually, steps and lists look different, but in practice, authors use them interchangeably. I'm considering simplifying the template by eliminating one of the sets of tags. Does anyone have a use-case where having two sets of numbered lists has been useful? Is there any reason for having both sets? Eli. Creating a custom date variable
This should be easy but I can't get it to work. I need a variable that shows the month and year, for example April 2006. I created a custom variable based on the definition of the system variable "Current Date (long)", which is defined as <$monthname> <$daynum>, <$year>. My new custom variable has the definition <$monthname> <$year>. However- it shows up as <$monthname<$year. I could change the definition of the system variable, but I'd rather leave it unchanged. What am I missing? [FrameMaker Version 6.0p405] Thanks Eli.
