FrameMaker 10 to PDF making Funky Bookmarks

2011-08-08 Thread theboggette
I checked and they were set correctly.? However, after opening both to check,
it's now got them at the right levels.? (I also have since upgraded to Acrobat
X, so that might have something to do with it.)
?
Thank you for responding!

I'd suggest you check both the landscape file and the book file to make

Re: Updating Existing Table Formats

The TableCleaner plugin is a godsend!  My docs consist of table after table
after table and we've changed templates (including margin settings, formats,
etc.) many times.  Without TableCleaner, I'd be hosed.

Hi, Lea -

The suggestions I'm trying out now were 1) to create a table anchor format
paratag to span across columns, 2) use a plugin. I think Rick's TableCleaner
will help me automate a lot of the formatting.
Terrif is just an editorial comment by me. ;)

FM10 performance with real-time spell checking

2011-06-07 Thread theboggette
Yes!? It's also valuable to set your TOC formats to language "none" so they
don't get caught every time in the spell checker (especially since you don't
edit them directly)

This isn't new to FM10 or relevant only to real-time spell checking. The option
has been there forever. I've worked mainly on software over the years and have
often used a Code pgf format (and char format) with Language set to None.
Believe me, when you're writing API docs with lots of chunks of code, it's
invaluable. :-)

Custom Cell Ruling in Tables

2009-10-05 Thread theboggette
Is there a way to make 'From Table' the default ruling setting? In our
template, when you pull down Custom Ruling and Shading in the Table menu, the
default ruling style is 'Cyan'. I tried deleting that setting, but the default
then becomes Double. I can also reset it to a selection while the document is
open, but when I save and close Frame and reenter, it's back to Cyan.

I'm in Frame 8 on Windows XP.

RE: Custom Cell Ruling in Tables

2009-10-05 Thread theboggette
We want the default to be something most of our writers use the most.  Cyan is
used by a minority of our group under only certain circumstances.  Your
solution works only as long as you don't close Frame between uses.  The minute
you close Frame and reopen, Cyan is back.

In both FM 7.2 and FM 9 (and I suspect other versions, too), the settings in
the Custom Ruling and Shading dialog -- which boxes are checked, which list
items are selected -- are always the selections you made the last time you used
the dialog. So set Apply Ruling Style, Fill, and Color to From Table, clear any
or all check boxes, and close the dialog. Then open it again -- you'll see
those same settings.

That said, I don't understand why seeing Apply Ruling Style set to Double (or
whatever) should bother you. What the dialog is set to makes absolutely no
difference to anything until you select one or more cells and then click Apply.

Superscript Frame to PDF issue

2009-08-06 Thread theboggette
Greetings.

I have a set of documents that have superscript characters in the Heading1
levels.  When I convert to PDF, any Heading that has a superscript is not a
link in the TOC of the PDF.  The Heading shows up in the TOC, but you can't
click on it to go to that page.

I'm not sure if my settings are wrong in Frame, PDF, or what.  I'm using Frame
8 and Acrobat Professional 8 on Windows.

Thoughts?
