Hi Carstens, Yes. I also have this problem from time to time. I noticed this with FrameMaker 10 and now also with FrameMaker 11. Extremely annoying. How can you rely on that the text is where it is supposed to be with such a bug. MIF washing fixes this issue. However, not for long ... Or deactivate the setting „Balance Columns“ in your main text frame. This is not some fault, this only shows that you have set the columns to balance (probably the default). Uncheck and the left column will fill before anything is added to the right (or next) column, and then it will stay filled. Also notice that the balancing is also governed by the settings of the settings of orphan/widow settings of the paragraphs. Hi Bödvar, This is not only a fault, this is a nasty bug. Or how do you name it, if some lines from the end of the _second_ column are moved to the end of the _first_ column. Column 1 is filled with text, then column 2, and at the end of column 1 you have some lines out of any context. These lines are moved from the end of column 2. Yes. Balance Columns is activated. But that's what I want to keep. The orphan/widow setting should not cause such a strange effect. Sorry, I didn't realize. (Slapping my mouth! No, fingers!) Never saw this in my FM 7, 7.2 or 10. Can this have anything to do with sloppy memory (not mine! the computer's)? Any havy graphics? Structured mode (returns less memory back, I understand)? I have seen the strangest things happen when the computer is losing control of its memory. Hi Bödvar, I do not encounter this bug every week. Only now and then. My feeling is that this bug turns up only in some documents on certain pages and there again and again. I work in the structured interface although my files are not structured. The files can be rather small (only a few pages) up to 100 pages. Therefore I doubt whether memory is involved. (My PC has 4 GB.) And my files reside on our network (which did not cause any problems yet). I will check all this when I notice this issue again. Uncheck and the left column will fill before anything is added to the right (or next) column, and then it will stay filled. Also notice that the balancing is also governed by the settings of the settings of orphan/widow settings of the paragraphs. [FrameMaker ] Text skipping from right to left column
Sorry, I didn't realize. (Slapping my mouth! No, fingers!) Never saw this in my FM 7, 7.2 or 10. Can this have anything to do with sloppy memory (not mine! the computer's)? Any havy graphics? Structured mode (returns less memory back, I understand)? I have seen the strangest things happen when the computer is losing control of its memory. [FrameMaker ] Text skipping from right to left column
Hi B?dvar, I do not encounter this bug every week. Only now and then. My feeling is that this bug turns up only in some documents on certain pages and there again and again. I work in the structured interface although my files are not structured. The files can be rather small (only a few pages) up to 100 pages. Therefore I doubt whether memory is involved. (My PC has 4 GB.) And my files reside on our network (which did not cause any problems yet). I will check all this when I notice this issue again.
