RE: Import PDF Comments

2012-07-09 Thread Jeff Coatsworth
Lots of discussion of this on the forums - the key thing is that you have to
make sure that you don't modify the FM doc after creating the review PDF,
otherwise you can't import their comments back into FM.

Hi Gillian,

If the comments were added to the PDF in the form of Sticky Notes, in
Framemaker, you won't see them directly (as part of the text). To see them, go
to the Markers pod -- they should all appear there.

I did a shared review with Acrobat 10. When I open up the review file, I see
all of the SME’s comments. However, when I go to Frame and select Import PDF
Comments, none of the comments import.

I am using Acrobat Pro X/ Frame X from within TCS v3.0.

Any suggestions?

Did the originating FM file get saved after the review PDF was created? My
understanding is that the FM file needs to remain unchanged to allow reviewer

FM9: Import PDF comments in all files in book?

2010-12-02 Thread Yves Barbion
Hi group

Is there a way to import PDF comments in all files in a book at once? The
only workaround I see now is to:

   1. Select the option Generate Separate PDF Document for Each Selected
   File.
   2. Distribute the individual chapters of a book for review.
   3. Import the PDF comments chapter by chapter.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

RE: FM9: Import PDF comments in all files in book?

2010-12-02 Thread Reng, Dr. Winfried
Hi Yves,

When RJ Jacquez presented FrameMaker 10 on the tekom conference
this was one of the features. As I do not have FM 9, I did not
know whether this was new.

If FM 9 cannot import comments across all files in a book, your
approach seems to be reasonable.

Best regards

Winfried

Crash on import PDF comments

2009-07-06 Thread Paquet, Rebecca S (IS)
WinXP Svc Pk 2 on PC with 1G RAM
FrameMaker 9p230
Acrobat Professional 8.1.2

Crash scenario:
1. Create PDF using FM 9. (FileSave as PDF with Generate PDF for
review only selected)
2. Edit PDF using Acrobat 8.1.2 and save with edit marks/comments.
3. Select Import PDF comments into FM. (Have selected with all files in
book open and with no files in book open.)
4. Crash with message:
Internal Error 9004, 6920492, 9676798, 0. FrameMaker has
detected a serious problem and must quit.

Ran process with Task Manager open and have not seen memory or CPU usage
hit maximum.

I know my machine is woefully underpowered, and have requested an
upgrade. But, I don't see anything that indicates that this is a
hardware problem. Can anyone point me to a solution?

Thanks in advance,
Becky
