Same problem here: 1. Uninstalled beta test copy first. 2. Restarted Windows. 3. Installed FM8 trial version. 4. Started FM8 and I get to see the splash screen saying You have 30 days left in your trial period. Great! This gives me plenty of time to prepare a what's new in FrameMaker 8 seminar for my FrameMaker trainees. 5. Selected Continue Trial and clicked Next, but got the message Product License has expired. Sigh! Indeed Sarah, you were right in saying: Caution for beta testers: Reports http://lists.frameusers.com/pipermail/framers/2007-August/008766.html on the frameusers list indicate difficulties with installing the trial version on a system that had a beta version installed. So far for my first impressions. Not even 50%. But a massive 100%. That's right, twice as much! You can always get someone in the U.S. to buy it and post it to you. Even with postage and possible import duty, you can still make massive savings. I do not know if they will ship a US version of software out of the country though - might have some export restrictions imposed by the US Dept of Commerce. Thanks for the notion here, Dov. I _think_ I did. Had to, really, because of rather narrow space on my HDs. But I did not uninstall until after downloading and maybe also unzipping the Trial version. There were no explanations in the Beta testers site that I recall telling about the proper procedure. Would that be enough a reason? You can say that Beta testers are paying extra here in a way. ;-) RANT_MODE I would buy the thing off the Adobe website if they only let me -- in a fair trade. I don't like being laughing stock of Adobe Finance Specialists (or whatever they are) who have set up their feudal system so that we, Europeans have to pay much more for the same software than Americans. Why? There is no special Icelandic version. It seems we, Icelanders, are supposed to buy off the Danish website where everything is in Danish and everything is expensive!
