You don't need to make screen captures. The free SysExporter utility:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/sysexp.html

will save the (text) contents of any window, dialog or object on the
Windows screen to a file,
either as text, HTML or a range of other formats.

Interesting, I never knew about that feature either. In FM10 it shows
only those insets in open documents even if I choose a book from the
Select menu, is that the intended behavior?

Adobe should hire a competent UI designer to take all this additional
functionality that has been hidden into obscure corners of the product
over the years and make it usable. And they they should hire some
competent tech writers / editors to given the docs a similar makeover
and fill in the gaping holes.

Hi,

You can also use itl's FrameScript script:
http://www.i-frame.itl.info/en/feature-description/i-frame-modules/base-pack/sort-paragraph-sections.html

It's part of the base pack, but as far as I know you can
also buy single scripts.

There's every reason to have this capability...  Create a bullet list and then
sort it...  Add new entries and sort it again.  The work flow would be, select
a range of pgfs, and execute teh sort.  Many times I have had to convert to
table, sort, then un-table the table.  Even if it doesn't trash the xrefs, this
work flow is a drag.  This request looks like a good candidate for a nifty
ExtendScript.  Should not be too hard to accomplish.

RE: Sorting paragraphs

2013-01-03 Thread Fred Ridder

For that use case, you can do the alphabetic sort when you generate the list.
Try generating an *index* of references rather than a list. In Frame
terminology, an index is alphabetically sorted, whereas generated lists are
generally in order of occurrence (alphabetical lists of paragraphs being the
main exception).

You can generate an Index of References for graphics, and that will be
sorted alphabetically.

If you apply a unique pgf tag to any set of pgfs, you can create a List
of Paragraphs (Alphabetical) by including only that tag.

Stuart and Fred are right (of course), but what I often do in this case is
convert to a table, sort and then convert back. Of course, Frame ensures that
your xref markers get snarfed (unless this bug has been fixed), so there is a
downside.

RE: Sorting paragraphs

2013-01-03 Thread David Artman
Ah, OK... that's an Index of References application, for sure. Indexes
are alphabetically sorted, lists are in order of occurrence.
1) Add Index of References
2) Include References: Imported Graphics
3) Click Add.

You get an alphabetical file of all your graphics (I believe it
alphabetizes by full path; i.e., what would appear on the c line for
that element, in MIF).

I actually use an IOR on imported graphics so that I can find all of the
images in a document in a file system and pack them up for archiving.
