Acrobat 9 Question - Comments List

2010-12-02 Thread Berman, Robert
Framers,

I have been editing our Technical Writer's work using comments in
Acrobat 9 Pro (version 9.4.0). My issue is that there is, to the best of
my knowledge, no way to create and print a continuous list of the
comments. If I have one comment on each page of a 500 page book the
resulting comment list is also 500 pages (1-page for each comment). Is
there any plug-ins or any third party solution that can create a listing
of comments that is continuous?

Thank you,

Robert L. Berman

Cross References not working in PDF

2011-03-24 Thread Berman, Robert
All,

Our standard documentation is created in Unstructured FrameMaker 9 and
printed to Adobe PDF. We are noticing that some of the cross references
in the PDF file are not working. These could be cross references to
figures, tables, or other sections within the manual. When we look at
the source FrameMaker files there doesn't seem to be an issue; we can
CTRL+ALT click on the cross reference and it takes us to the marker
without issue. We are thinking that the issue is related to content
copied into the document from different FrameMaker files. When we create
new content (example: anchored frame followed by a figure caption) and
create a cross reference the link works fine in the generated PDF. To
fix the problem we followed these steps:

1) Manually clicked on all of the links in the generated PDF and
identified the cross references that are not working.

2) Opened the source FrameMaker files in question, CTRL+ALT click the
non-working cross reference, and delete the marker.

3) Used the Cross References pod to identify any unresolved cross
references.

4) Recreate the cross reference.

5) Generate the PDF. (print to Adobe PDF)

This works but it takes a long time to do this manually. Does anyone out
there know of something we are doing incorrectly or know of a
third-party solution that can check for this and fix it?

This problem is being seen on computers running both Windows XP SP3 (3GB
RAM) and Windows 7 64-bit (8GB RAM), all FrameMaker 9 versions updated
to the latest revision. Each computer is also running Acrobat 9
Professional.

Thank you,
